remember the last amnesty in 1984? I do.

I only vaguely remember the amnesty, mainly because I was in college being young and stooopid. However, I have found out since that the amnesty actually took place in 1986.

Here ya go a little history per Michelle Malkin:

There have been seven illegal alien amnesties passed into law since 1986:

·The 1986 Immigration and Reform Control Act blanket amnesty for an estimated 2.7 million illegal aliens

·1994: The “Section 245(i)” temporary rolling amnesty for 578,000 illegal aliens

·1997: Extension of the Section 245(i) amnesty

·1997: The Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act for nearly one million illegal aliens from Central America

·1998: The Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti

·2000: Extension of amnesty for some 400,000 illegal aliens who claimed eligibility under the 1986 act

·2000: The Legal Immigration Family Equity Act, which included a restoration of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty for 900,000 illegal aliens]

Guess what? None –not one—of those amnesties was associated with a decline in illegal immigration. On the contrary, the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. has tripled since President Reagan signed the first amnesty in 1986. The total effect of the amnesties was even larger because relatives later joined amnesty recipients, and this number was multiplied by an unknown number of children born to amnesty recipients who then acquired automatic US citizenship.

And as I’ve noted before, there is no such thing as a “temporary” amnesty.

I refuse to give up. I will not willingly go to slaughter. I feel like cornered animal with little choice left but to fight. Otherwise we will be acting like those who without hope walked into the gas chambers without a struggle. We need to teach those in power that a cornered animal is the most dangerous. If we are to be defeated, let us to it with dignity.

I close with a quote from an old Roman tomb:

Meqlio vivere un giorno di leone, che cento anni di pecora.

Better to live a day as a lion, than a hundred years as a lamb.

It is too late to save this country. It has been in the shitter for years. Especially with our current leadership. A dead Reagan can do better than Bush has. He has let us down.

Just called my Rep Frank Lucas...and called Senator Coburn...

Of course they are NOT going to back this bill.

But I did encourage them to bend the RINO's ears in both houses....

FWIW-

Thank you for the ping, PTD. I missed Ted Kennedy’s press conference but I know anything he says is likely not something I want to hear. The fact that the Senators had to work this out in secret meetings is indicative that the result is not something Americans will readily accept.

The Administration keeps saying their comprehensive plan does not involve amnesty; then they proceed to define amnesty in such a way as to support what they say. We all have a sense of whether or not these illegal aliens are being offered a form of amnesty, and I think most of us on the right agree that they are.

Further, it is never explained why these immigrants can not be offered a pathway to legal work status (permits) instead of making it a pathway to citizenship. Giving citizenship to illegals is like giving Sandy Burglar a misdemeanor for stealing and destroying highly classified secrets. Wait, this bunch did do that, didn’t they.

Make those calls and write those letters!

He doesn’t need to read it to get the message. It’s all for impact, the perception is the reality we need to create.

I wouldn’t have said bend...

I would have said rip off, if they cave on this bill...

But the reality is that it pretty much a done deal...

My congressman barely speaks English. Whenever he runs for reelection, his campaign ads always have a narrator so he never has to say anything on camera.
