Solomon Ortiz did receive Rush’s Katie Couric Award for asking the stupidest questions.

Back in the eighties, he didn't even know that the homeport being built in Ingleside for the battleship Wisconsin, BB-64 was in his district.

Thank you for posting this and for your long record of active service on behalf of Conservatism.

I just saw Pres. Bush on TV say this approach will deal with immigration "without amnesty and without animosity". Cute words that show deference to the illegals and none to those of us who are legal citizens. It totally ignores that this is an effort to stuff an unpopular program down the throats of the American people. If you add the total popularity of this Congress with this President, you barely get 50%. With that lack of support these two groups are going to try and enact a law that will dramatically alter the culture of the United States.

Please let your Senators and Representative know what you think of this effort.

We have to keep on phoning and sending post cards. At least we can say we tried. There is a link at #6 for addressed and phone numbers.

“Like many of you I am incensed that our representatives are ignoring the will of the people.”

Ditto. Here we have an issue where, amazingly, a majority of the population - right AND left, agrees... so what happens? A majority of our elected officials... both right AND left... ignores us.

Well. I’d like to highlight your good points and repost them, but I’d have to copy the entire essay. Thank you for your first hand experience and your complete grasp of the situation. But your words here sum it up.

“We need a coalition of the unlikely.”

Thank you for posting this. Unfortunately, as I’m typing, the President and the Senate are gleefully stabbing us in the back. Our only hope is that there will be some serious debate in the House to thwart this atrocity.

Thanks again for your wisdom and patriotism.

True enough, but it is part of a package. I also mentioned phone calls. The fact is that stamped letters they get now is a trickle. When they start getting flooded they will know that something is up.

You are right about letters instead of calls. Post cards are good because everyone can read them. Did you hear about that brick campaign last year? That got the attention of several congressmen.

If We let them get this bill into law, the NWO/NAU will be their next project.

Slumlords are a MAJOR part of our “Border Problem”!

So right! And they're a problem in post hurricane New Orleans as well. Why rent to a family who wants to come home when you can get 10 times that with 25 aliens in the place....

$$$$$ means more to them than their souls.

As always you are right on the mark! I find the part where the families can be brought here also on “temporary visas” troubling as well. Just what we need! More of a strain on our social service, medical and school budgets here in California!

I think you’re taking one answer and giving it to a seperate question. There are too many votes by Hunter and floor speeches about not issuing more visas, etc. over the years to say he doesn’t ‘get’ the immigration problem. Perhaps there is one aspect he will check on further or stats given him he wasn’t familiar with. I’m sure I know more about the entire immigration situation than Hunter does, or any of them for that matter. But I don’t know zip about the military and that end that he does or trade or on and on.

Bottom line, Duncan Hunter has accomplished more to secure this country than any politician I can think of.

Thanks for the bump. We still have time, but very little. We need to contact dem congressmen that represent blue collar union districts. Get their constituents on board. Call your local police and fire and ambulance unions. We just might be able to stop it in congress. We must not make the mistake of viewing this as just a conservative issue or we lose.

Because of a shortage of LAPD officers in Los Angeles, Mayor Tony Vee now is cooking up a deal with Tijuana to have Mexico “loan” police officers to LAPD! Aaargh!!!
