“That and don’t keep your girlfriend in style on the company dime.”
And, you think that such is not the case in many high-ranking positions at the World Bank - besides Wolfowitz - including with one of the directors sitting in judgement of him.
The cesspool of nepotism at the World Bank is such that any “ethical” complaint against Wolfowitz by anyone near his rank is the pot calling the kettle black, in spades.
You are highly uninformed about the real reasons they went after Wolfowitz and what a pack of hypocrites those that did so are.

Yep. Done in by a woman, I think. He lets himself be led around by the nose by some of them.
Good idea...if that was the truth in this matter.

(The Republican party is dead! Let's start over.)
I have to agree with posters on the thread who said this was a “railroad job”. From all reports, Wolfie was always above board about what was going on when he spoke with the bank’s board about the possible conflict of interest, and the board was aware throughout of the deals that had been worked. I believe the board should have had the integrity to say, “Yeah, we knew about it, we approved it, and we’ll take the heat if ‘the public’ doesn’t like it. We’ll all resign if you like because of our error of judgment”
Nothing has become public that either Wolfie or his girlfriend did anything the board wasn’t aware of.

Considering the winks and systematic cover ups that followed pols everywhere accepting billions in bribes from Saddam Hussein, the original poster got it right.
