Are you as unhappy with this "Comprehensive" Immigration Reform Bill as I am. There does not seem much we can do but we have to try. The Capital switchboard number is 202-224-3121. Call this number and ask the operator to transfer to your Senator. Once the intern answers the phone this is what you should say -

Hello,

My name is . I am calling to register a complaint concerning the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill.

I do not support this bill.

I do not support open borders.

I do not support massive transfer of funds of the public treasury from law abiding citizens to illegal aliens.

After calling your Senators, start calling the Senators from other states that support this bill - Kennedy, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Barbara Boxer, Diane Fienstien, et al. Tell them the same thing. If you are asked if you live in the state, state you do not but affirm that this bill effects the United States and every citizen. State as a legal United States citizen you want them to register your complaint. Conclude by saying thank you, hang up, and call the next Senator.

Also, call the Senators who will fight against this bill - Jeff Sessions, Mitch McConnell, et al, and let them know you want them to fight to kill this bill.

Furthermore, call the White House and voice your displeasure at being stabbed in the back by this 'Republican' president. The White House phone numbers are below and their email is

comments@whitehouse.gov.

Wow. Does anyone realize how many votes the Democratic Party will have secured itself in the future (the next decade) with this new amnesty plan???

The Democratic Party should have a HUGE CELEBRATION,,,,

they have just guaranteed MAJORITY STATUS AD INFINITUM!!!

The amnesty should be titled,,,

"THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY MAJORITY ACT OF 2007"

P.S. No wonder Ted Kennedy and all the democrats are laughing!

Yup. You got it. Not only have they guaranteed themselves a permanent majority, but the Republicans are signing their own death warrant.

I called both of my GA Senators - who had time to pose with Kennedy yesterday but seemed to not have time to answer their constituents phone calls.

Both have voice mail on. I was able to get through the local offices but staff in both offices just don’t give a damn.

Very eye opening.

This is noted on the Senate website:

May 22, 1856
In an act of great drama and national significance, Representative Preston Brooks (D-SC) entered the Senate chamber, walked up to the desk of Senator Charles Sumner (R-MA), and severely beat him with a light cane.

I called Senator Dole's office, read the above to the nice lady who answered and asked her to tell Mrs Dole to buy a cane to beat the snot out of any senator supporting the damn amnesty bill.

If your congressman or senator is a democrat--don't even waste your time calling or writing him. For any democrat, this is a unbelievably HUGE long-term win for their party!!!

The Democratic Party is buying at least 70% (if not more) of all the millions of future votes that will result from this amnesty!

Lindsey Graham's email

Jon Kyle's email

Mel Martinez's email

Jeff Flake
jeff.flake@mail.house.gov

I have also been calling. I got through to Specter's office and logged a complaint there. (202) 224-4254

I also called the White House and left a vm for the prez...so disappointed, voted for him twice and have supported him in the war...he no longer has my support.

Like many here, this is the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. I'm done with this President...and I feel betrayed.

Hello, My name is . I am calling to register a complaint concerning the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill, SB 1348. I do not support this bill. I do not support open borders. I do not support massive transfer of funds of the public treasury from law abiding citizens to illegal aliens.

You and I are both fools for thinking that our elected officials actually give a damn about our thoughts on critical issues. This country is going to pay the price for decades to come and the only hope I have from this horrible mess is that a 3rd party is created where Conservatives can actually vote for people who will truly REPRESENT them in Washington. However, after yesterday, I don’t have much hope for that or this country. Call me Chicken Little, but I really think this is the beginning of the end of the United States as we all know and love.

I have been thinking the same thing. They know that the people of this country do not want this.

THEY KNOW THE PEOPLE DO NOT WANT THIS SELL OUT11

They can try to pretend that it has this and that, all of bunch of smoke and noise to hide the plain fact that it is amnesty - straight - and undiluted.

I am afraid that they know that this wave of angry is coming at them.

The RINO’s are in bed with the Demonrats.

We do not have representation any more.

If the calling does work for the House, Great!! But I do have my doubts. But what is there to do?

Too bad you can't camp on his office & home. Of course this is what I have stated for years here. They don't care about an E-Mail or letter. They need to physical have their daily routines messed up. They need an immediate recall in action. They need to be booed out of a restaurant like OJ was last week. Also we need a march set up on the 27th of this month in all cities in America.

Called my Senators and Congressman, plus the RNC for TX. Told them that in the past, I would happily vote for a spider monkey if they had an (R) next to their name; wasn't typically a single issue voter. But this issue, because of its far reaching implications, was a deal breaker for me.

No more walking districts, no more yard signs, no more articles urging support for the Republicans. Told them I would actively hunt down someone who was interested in securing our border and throw all of my support behind them, instead.

Was very polite, but very firm.

When Simpson-Mazzli passed in 1986, we had an “unmanageable” 4 million illegals, so we legalized them. Now we hve anywhwere from 12-20 million. Despite claims that “we can’t deport them all,” we know where about 9.5 million of them are — they are the 9.5 million Social Security numbers that don’t match the name. Why not deport those people, for violating our immigration laws and for the fake identity as well? (We could hold them pending deportation at closed-up military bases.)

Then we imprison their employers, cut off ALL benefits to them, and watch a bunch of them deport themselves. And triple the number of ICE agents.

And I’d immediately pardon Ramos and Compean.

Building the wall is essential, of course, and I’d build it along the ENTIRE Southern border.

You know, the Minutemen, with the cooperation of property owners, are building walls too. What do you want to bet the government eventually comes after them for building a wll in an area Congress didn’t designate for it?

I’ve been thinking about that. Our Congress is allowing in criminals to this country, the country accepted Bill Clinton and his lies, but no one is screaming that this means that the rule of law is being destroyed and what that means. Civil society won’t be so civil.

I am wondering, “What crime do I get to get away with?” and get rewarded for it!!

Anarchy is coming, it will just be a matter of when.

My Senator’s Arlen Specter - is there any point to me e-mailing him? Obviously, he’s not going to give a rat’s ass what I think. For that matter, I think it’s clear that FEW of our elected representatives care what the majority of the people want in this matter. I wonder what’s in it for THEM.

I’m so disgusted by this. Every one of the people behind and in favor of this should be impeached - starting with GWB.

10 mins to get throught to an annoyed office worker for McCain

He talked over me and tried to tell me it wasn’t really amnesty, if I read it.

I said I read enough to know it was.

They are obviously getting a lot of calls and are very frustrated. Good :>

I’m not 100% behind him but I sent Hunter $25 today because he’s 100% right on this one!

Call her anyway.

Here is a tip. Call the local office. If they get 10 calls, they report it to Washington like the phone rang all day and they had to field 1000. They’re used to handling constituent-service calls, so calls about legislation really mess up their day. The folks on Capitol Hill get a report that makes a handful of calls seem like a tsunami.

Then call DC.

Then email them. Then if you’re so inclined, send a telegram.

I did not get a live voice or voice mail but I did send emails and faxes to Senators Cornyn and Hutchinson. Also to President bush and Vice President Cheney.

Just emailed my Senators. Here is what I said:

I am writing today about S 1348.

I do not support this bill. When Simpson-Mazzoli passed in 1986, we legalized about 4 million illegals, claiming the problem was “unmanageable.” Now we ahve somewhere from 12-20 million of them. Legalizing them will only encourage more millions (some have estimated 60-100 million) to come to this country, believing that they will eventually be legalized.

I do not support open borders.

I do not support massive transfer of funds of the public treasury from law abiding citizens to illegal aliens.

Once this bill passes and the z-visas are issued, these millions of people who are here illegally are immediately legal.

Remember that three of the Fort Dix Six are illegals. This bill would legalize them too.

Furthermore, there is nothing in the bill to encourage assimilationm or to stop the practice of “anchor babies.”

This bill is so bad that leaving the problem alone for a while is better.

I urge the Senator to vote no on S 1348.

I'm going to highlight your response so people can be sure to see it:

It make no sense to fight abroad if we surrender at home.

The low number of comments on this thread is depressing, but not as depressing as the thought of this Kennedy-McCain Amnesty bill. I contacted local (Austin, Texas) offices for Senators Cornyn and Hutchison (their respective Washington lines were busy all morning) and the Washington office of Rep. Lamar Smith. Got mostly a mealy-mouthed run-a-round from everybody. Cornyn’s office said the bill would likely pass, so Cornyn is leaning toward changing it as much as possible (and themn supporting it, I guess). I asked that he strongly oppose it in hopes that it might help give at least moral support to folks in the house who might oppose it.

Folks, you just gotta call everyone you can afford to call.

I called both offices - Cornyn opposes and will vote against cloture. Hutchison opposes “amnesty” but they didn’t have a statement on cloture. I’d say everyone should call Hutchison’s office to make sure she votes the right way on cloture. The best shot at getting through is in her district offices. If they want a zip, 77002 will do.
