Just found that on the Early Bird and see you already posted it. GMTA.

The numbers, which have not been previously reported, disclose the extent to which contractors — Americans, Iraqis and workers from more than three dozen other countries — are largely hidden casualties of the war, and now are facing increased risks alongside American soldiers and marines as President Bush’s plan to increase troop levels in Baghdad takes hold.

The folks back home don't have a clue about all the Filipinos, Indians, Nepalis, Ugandans, and other Third Country Nationals out here getting rocketed and mortared and doing jobs soldiers have become too precious to do, for what an American would consider chump change.

We DO have allies in this war, but you are not suppose to know that, and if it leaks out, well, then, they are just "mercenaries" unworthy of your consideration.

It’s the high end of the equation, but you would be surprised to know how many are pulling down that amount in theater. Most make less than 100K though.

No one is forcing these guys to go....So these folks should either quit complaining, or stay at home. either way, they should STFU.

All of our military are volunteers. Do you suggest that they do the same thing? I don't view this as complaining, just stating the facts. Just because they are being paid a lot of money doesn't mean that they have lost the right of free speech.

LOL! Yeah, I could if I really wanted to. I have friends who are flying Mi-17s and some who are about to be...the money is good if you are willing to take the associated risks.

Please note:Those who marry for money, earn it!

I have known a few who made the trip and they all say it was the money but the ones that return are not doing it for the money.

If you like to live in interesting times it may be for you¿?

Indians do most of the work throughout the Middle East, not just in Iraq.

That's ops normal. I was referring to VD in Dubai and keeping the goats in the back from performing inadvertant CG shift. ;~)

The greater tragedy is that the Republican Congress and the Republican president did nothing to reverse it.

I agree.

VD in Dubai?

I am shocked, shocked. Next you will be trying to tell me about a den of inequity called the York Hotel where Chinese, African and Russian working girls use you as the rope in a tug-of-war.

Some pay big health prices for strange infections and other physical ailments that they have to disengage from further service for. Many are back, paying the price and are seriously disabled by these mysterius infections.

The pay’s high, the price is also high.

The pay ain't THAT high.

I had to come out of Afghanistan for a strange infection (NOT VD)and was let go by my employer while on medical leave. Pretty much wiped out everything I gained from that contract. Still, I'm glad I went.

It isn't just the money that gets people to come back.

I don’t see Allegra complaining. They DO go for pay and no one forces them to go. That said, I still hate seeing them shot at for doing their jobs.

Den of Iniquity?

That's the Pilot's Lounge used for resetting crew endurance (or so I'm told...).
