After his disgraceful term as President, Jimmy had to do something to save his “legacy.” It was not because he had a heart for the people at Habitat for Humanity.

He knew that he left the country in such a horrible mess (interest rates at 20 - 21%, hostages, etc. that he got involved with Habitat for Humanity. He got invloved for his sake - to save his reputation - not for the cause!

Unfortunately, he has lost any credibility with his senile analyses of world affairs - especially his anti-America rants! He should have just remained in the background - but he is too vain!

Why, then, the ant-Bush tirade? With Jimmy Carter one never knows. It suffices, perhaps, to know that he's smarter than all of us put together. That much you figure out just by listening to him.

“I am embarrassed to belong to the same denomination as those two.”

Don’t be. There isn’t a litmus given to become So. Baptist. But, after a time, it’s easy to see who is genuine and who wants to have their name on the roll for political purposes. So. Baptists welcome all repentent sinners (no matter the sin) to join the church. We’re bound to get a few hiding out in the herd that aren’t really the Shepherd’s sheep.

Not only was “President” (sic) Jimmy Carter a disaster, but the ex-President Jimmy Carter has proved to be a petty, vicious, dishonest, run-at-the-mouth leftist hack. To complete the picture of this poisonous little toad, let me note that my family is close to someone who used to work for Carter’s foundation, who reports that in person he is a nasty, spiteful, condescending snake, widely despised by the underlings. Far from being any model of Christian virtue, he is detested by many who have had to endure him...... his image and reputation are zealously guarded by his wife and other enablers around him, but many people who know the “real Jimmy Carter” loath him.

“If Bush gets his amnesty passed, he will be in the same category as Carter ie vying for worst president ever.
putting on flame retardant suit:)”

The way immigration is set up right now, there isn’t ANY solution that’s going to appeal to everyone. I’ve noticed that the Democrats are using “triangulation” to handle the matter. It doesn’t matter whay Pres. Bush does... it’s wrong.

Personally, having lived over 20 years in San Diego before moving to the east coast, I’m for granting amnesty to those who are settled in here. Work will come to a halt in San Diego if we didn’t have the day laborers. Let’s find a way to make the system work, instead of arresting them and taking them to the border. I’m hoping we can come up with a solution to meet the needs of builders, masons, landscaping, farmers (migrant picking), janitorial, etc. because these jobs pay horribly but are desperately needed. I’m not claiming to know how to fix the problems but I don’t have a problem with foreign workers coming into our country to work (if they’re coming here to illegaly get on welfare or get free medical care... that’s a different story!). The immigration policy we had under Clinton was equally horrific. I hope were are not still offering free college tuition and financial assistance to various muslim countries if they’ll send us their young men!

Not exactly, I was threatened by a carload of illegal aliens because of a bumpersticker on my truck that says secure our borders. Bush was nowhere around to help me, luckily I had a weapon handy.
