You're from NY -- enough said, Rooty 'sycophant'.
Since he is already running can we safely call it a partial birth abortion? LOL. Sweet justice.
Rudy's record seems to indicate that he's a competent administrator and a patriotic American, but I simply can't and won't vote for a pro-abortion, pro-"gay" marriage, anti-2nd Amendment, pro-amnesty candidate for ANY public office, much less the highest and most powerful office in the land.
Of course Guilini is a viable Republican candidate. He leads in the polls (top 3) and perhaps more importantly has raised millions of dollars to campaign with. If Guiliani weren't a viable candidate, social conservatives wouldn't feel threatened by his candidacy, nor would there be a percieved need to form anti-Guiliani groups to stop him.
Perhaps a bigger question for the social conservatives inclined to attack Guiliani might be whether their time & money would be better spent presenting a positive alternative candidate of their own.
Good point. I mean, its not like the pro-rudy liberals sit around and attack the conservatives or anything.
Who are “the conservatives”?
OK.. you got me there. I should have said “those to the right of Rudy”.
All Christians need to stand together in these times. It doesn’t look like it’s going to get easier for any of us anytime soon, and in fact, may get a lot worse.
Liberal Republicans means uppereastside types who support abortion on demand and gay marriage. Please see Maggie Gallagher’s latest article “Pro choice republican Equals Disaster”.
I am Jewish and I am unhappy about the prospect of a pro abort Republican candidate. It would be a disaster for us.
Your argument is valid if a candidate is excusably moderate. For example, Bush isn't exactly a stellar conservative, however I voted for him twice, (and probably would again), because he stands for core conservative principles (his immigration amnesty aside).
However Rudy is not even close to being excusable. He's just as the third party fanatics like to say, a guy with an "R" next to his name. He's only conservative compared to other people from NYC which isn't saying much.
Now is the time to choose a candidate so we can ALL vote "R", and not have to hold our noses doing it. What I can't figure out about Rudy supporters is, why they have thrown the towel in so early? The primaries haven't even BEGUN yet and Rudy's fans are already saying he's the only one that can win. Bush won two terms by being FAR more conservative than Rudy, so don't give me the "this nation doesn't like conservatives" routine.
If Rudy gets elected, there really won't be any difference between him and Hillary! except maybe gender. It's a tired cliche we hear from the third party extremists, but in this instance it's right. While party loyalty is a good thing, we shouldn't be blinded by it, especially now, NOW, when we actually HAVE a chance to choose an actual conservative as a candidate.
Are you just being modest? A freeper is mentioned in the article... that’s you, isn’t it?
Well, if it is you, keep up the good work. And if it isn’t you, I’d like to post to that freeper and give them the attaboy & encourage them to keep up the good work.
I wish it were me. During the 2004 campaign, I proudly wore a “Vote Catholic, not Kerry” button although I am not a Catholic.
No thanks. Hunter is my man, but I’d rather be “pro” something than waste time being “anti” something else. Get out there and actually SUPPORT someone so they can get some traction.
And yet these New York RINO types continue to defend Rudy as “being in the mainsteam on abortion”! And I am continuously attacked for standing my ground against him. He is an embarrassment. With his background, he should be pro life and yet he isn’t.
Yes, Clinton “is a very decent man” - for a pervert. And to think that Rudy was a fed prosecutor!
No, Rudy is handing this one to the Dems!
Looks like REAL Catholics are going to swiftboat Rudy....
B T T T
youll get who the party hands you...not who best fits what the principals of the party are
