The University of Colorado has sent letters to the 400 students signed up to live next year in the Cheyenne Arapaho dorm — saying they must take a 101 course, or move to another hall.
The wide-ranging course explores the history of higher education, and touches on topics including diversity, binge-drinking and the psychology of going away to college...
But some professors — who say they support a more tolerant campus — are concerned with how the university is rolling the CU 101 course into its curriculum.
Hadley Brown, a newly elected CU student-body president, and the others on her winning ticket, said during their campaign that they wanted to uphold the diversity goals outlined by past student leaders.
"Ideally, I think that it would be excellent for all incoming students to take it," said Brown, a senior English major. "This is something I think is sorely needed. So many students at CU lack multicultural education and education about white privilege."

After Colorado University (CU) professor Ward Churchill came under fire for his 2001 essay Some People Push Back: On the Justice of Roosting Chickens (wherein he alleged that America’s long history of injustice and oppression had sown the seeds of foreign rage that eventually manifested itself in the 9/11 attacks), one of the most ardent supporters to rush to his defense was fellow CU faculty member Tom Mayer.
A professor of sociology, Mayer shares Churchill’s belief that the United States is a nation whose history is an uninterrupted narrative of bigotry and imperialistic aggression. And like Churchill, Mayer too loathes capitalism, which he (as a Marxist) deems an exploitative system that causes immense human suffering. During Churchill’s ordeal, Mayer depicted his beleaguered colleague as an eloquent voice of truth capable of rallying resistance against America’s purportedly intransigent evil.

im glad someone finally told me - it wasnt my hard work that got me where i was today. it wasnt because i worked 60 hour weeks to pay for college, worked hard to get through college. it was because i was white! all i had to do was flash my white race card and people gave me everything i wanted! it was because of white priviledge!

None of this will help blacks graduate with higher grades.
Actual African-Americans (immigrants from Africa) and immigrants from the Caribbean do well in school, advance without affirmative action, and move easily into the rest of society. They still have a family structure, kids respect their elders, marriage is a firm bond, and kids are told to study.
Native-born US black culture says that learning is a bad thing, “race treason”, a white imposition; that ebonics (’dumb English’) is good; that rap music depicts a valid lifestyle; and that anyone who criticizes any of this can only be doing so for racist reasons.
More teaching that blacks are the victims of white oppression is not going to help the native-born population; it’s only justifying their excuses for themselves.
Let me translate this drivel: "So many students have avoided indoctrination and brainwashing by going to private schools or by being home-schooled that our homosexual, hate-America-first and white-guilt agendas are at risk. Like all fascists systems, those who don't toe the line need to be sent to reindoctrination camps."

Why would anyone want to go to the University of Colorado, in light of War Churchill and this new non-sense about having to study and understand so-called yet non-existent “white privilege?”
Not to mention that the United States Government welfare programs have created an artificial unlimited demand for black babies born out of wedlock and into an urban jungle designed to raise them as uneducated, unproductive, irresponsible and likely progenitors of another generation of the same. It’s therefore no surprise that having created the unlimited demand for these people, we now have an unlimited supply of them.

Ironically, both Thomas Sowell in Black Rednecks and White Liberals and James Webb in Born Fighting make the claim (condensed here) that this behavior is learned from the rural Southern whites who were by and large descended from the Lowland Scots who migrated to the US in the 1700s; thus, in this behavior which allegedly celebrates their African ancestry, they are actually "acting White".

Have you checked out their new Health Sciences Center at Fitzsimmons Campus? CU administrators scored a coup with this one.
So deep is their resentment that they needed to invent this nonsensical “club” with which they hope to bludgeon white people into accepting their convoluted view of the world.
And that convoluted view is that white people didn’t get Western culture to where it is by hard work, perseverance and sacrifice, but by somehow “robbing” other peoples of their “rightful” possessions.
The fact that Western society has single handedly raised the standard of all life on the planet is particularly galling to these hate mongers, so it becomes even more important to beat those “privileged white MFers” into believing that their contributions were neither that good nor important.

Has there been a study of black kids who are military dependents. Most of my soldiers(no matter the color) would not put up with their kids doing badly in school and the officers I knew expected their kids to all go to college.
Thats so stupid. The white kid in my HS graduating class who was a National Merit winner flunked out of college 3 times. He was smart. He wasn’t a hard worker and didn’t know how to study.
CU wears its “multiculturalism” on its sleeve, but Boulder has historically been hostile territory for people of color, right down to their DA prosecuting black football players for having sex with “our girls.” Bunch of liberal hypocrites if you ask me.

...In fact it's quite strange the way a line of thought that's intended to side with the oppressed often sides with oppressors in the name of multiculturalism. A great many practices could be put in the box 'their culture'. Dowry murders, female infanticide, female genital mutilation, slavery, child labour, drafting children into armies, the caste system, beating and sexually abusing and witholding wages from domestic servants especially immigrants, Shariah, fatwas, suttee. These are all part of someone's 'culture', as murder is a murderer's culture and rape is a rapist's. But why validate only the perpetrators? Have the women, servants, slaves, child soldiers, Dalits, ten-year-old carpet weavers in these cultures ever even had the opportunity to decide what their culture might be?
Yeah, let's hear it for multiculturalism.

Two years ago, we had a faculty opening. The university told us that we could only interview female or minority candidates for the position.
The person hired for the position was both female and a minority. She also has a disability.
Her reviews as an instructor have been consistently poor. I have seen her lecture and was struck by the fact that not only was she a bad teacher but she was wrong. The lesson she was presenting was factually incorrect.
Six months ago, she was the subject of an ethics investigation. A student claimed the professor offered to sell her the answers to the midterm for X dollars and the answers to the final for Y dollars. After an investigation, the university took the professor's word over the student's. No consequences for the professor.
The professor was also named "Professor of the Year" for the college.
As a white male, I would have been terminated for poor teaching or even the allegation that I had been trying to shake down students for cash. Yep, it's a privilege being a white male on campus.
Some might question whether working long hours and multiple jobs could be described as success.
The radical left got into “higher education” and successfully prevented normal people from being hired. They have perfected the art of indoctrination. I now think that this has gone so far that it has the opposite effect to that which the lefties want. I think that it is showing normal people that they are really NOT racists and that the radical lefties are racists.

Shhhh.... not only did white male scientists and scholars give us civilization as we know it, but a disproportionate number of them were Jewish. If it weren’t for “white devils”, we’d be living a middle ages existence. One of my favorite quotes is from Orson Welles: “men created civilization to impress their girlfriends”

When my older son was a senior in a California University, one of the deans told him that if he didn’t volunteer for so PC group several hours per week, he wouldn’t be graduated.
I had a lawyer friend send the dean a letter explaining that was involantary servitude and slavery had been banned in America. Did he and the university want to go to court to rediscover that reality.
He didn’t “volunteer”, and he was graduated with honors.
