WASHINGTON -- The Bush administration and key congressional Democrats and Republicans stepped up their efforts to sell a broad immigration compromise Thursday as lawmakers braced for a public backlash at home.
"Many Americans are rightly skeptical about immigration reform," President Bush said in a Rose Garden news conference. "This bill provides the best chance to reform our immigration system and help us make certain we know who's in our country and where they are."

It gives them TAX AMNESTY! That alone is enough to make me FURIOUS. I don’t want to get started on all the other things about it that are sickening.
Ya know, Bush and Company need to get their dictionaries out and find the meaning of the word... The attempts to try to sway the American people into thinking this is anything but amnesty is disingenuous.
I hope and pray the bill doesn’t pass. We don’t need “immigration reform” - we need to enforce our existing immigration laws!

Immediately after this legislation passes any illegal alien can apply for a probationary Z Visa and he must get it or be turned down within 24 hours.
This probationary Z Visa translates into a real Z Visa as soon as the bureaucratic machinery gets set up and they ink up their rubber stamps. Z VISA equals permanent legal right to live and work in the USA. Which is amnesty
