IRS Caters To Illegal Immigrants
Illustrating a schizophrenic relationship between two major government agencies, a record number of illegal immigrants will file taxes with the Internal Revenue Service before next weeks deadline as they avoid a Homeland Security Department that supposedly strives to deport them.
The bizarre contradiction among two federal agencies sends mixed messages about the U.S. Governments seriousness in enforcing its own laws, with one agency threatening to crack down on illegal aliens and the other actually accommodating the same violators.
About a decade ago the IRS created a special Individual Tax Identification Number (TIN) for foreigners who dont qualify for a Social Security number but want to file taxes. The agency has so far issued 10.7 million TINs, including 1.5 million last year alone. Many illegal immigrants also use the numbers to apply for credit, open bank accounts and even buy houses.
The IRS knows well that millions of illegal immigrants use TINs to file taxes annually. In fact, a few years ago the tax agency discovered 7.9 million W-2 forms with names that didnt match a Social Security number. Not surprisingly, the majority of the forms were filed in states with large illegal immigrant populations such as Texas, California and Florida.
This year tax preparers in several Border States are reporting a huge surge in the number of illegal aliens requiring tax filing services. One Phoenix Arizona company that caters to Hispanics is making a killing. The owner says that the majority of his 10,000 customers filing taxes are illegal immigrants without Social Security numbers.
In Atlanta one tax preparer has seen an equally large increase in illegal immigrants filing taxes to document residency and good morale character in case U.S. lawmakers approve an amnesty bill. In Los Angeles a once-struggling tiny tax preparation office in the inner city is now booming with illegal immigrants racing to beat next weeks filing deadline.
Illegal aliens across the country are openly speaking to the media about their newfound tax filings. Diggers Realm writes that illegal immigrants have learned that, since the IRS doesnt cooperate with law enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security, they have little to fear.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was even higher than that. I’ve been telling people for a long time now that if they did give full amnesty to all illegals in the country, we’d all be utterly shocked at the numbers of them. I think even illegals would be shocked how many of them there are.
Hmmm... 36 Million, huh?
I always guess-timated 50 Million!
In any case, those 12 mil figures are bs, and they know it.
My 50 mil figure may still be closer to the truth—or...I may be on the low side!
Ha! Do you really think an illegal would file if he thought he might owe???
Our gubernut at work.
My guesstimated figure is around forty million. That's around forty million too many.
I have preached for years that we were closer to 40 million intruders than 12 million.
Friends won’t even spend time with me anymore over this topic. If we ride together, I am forbidden from bringing it all up.
I am about to gloat really strongly.
Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
There are some who believe that there are 12 million in California alone.
I’ve always felt at least 30 million have entered this country illegally.
I get a kick out of those who’ve been using the 12 million figure for years now.
Well, we know the pols and the MSM have about worn out the “12 Million” number. Seems like they’ve used it for too many years.
For sure. That figure has been bandied about for years. It was no doubt low when it first became the "official" pro-illegal talking point number.
“they even bother to pay taxes”
They don’t! A large percentage qualify for the EITC (earned income tax credit, a welfare program)
What’s an average EITC refund? What is it based on? Number of dependents?
Income and dependents.
I’d rather have this issue wait till the next election. Let the next president decide.
They file to receive Earned Income tax credit funds, and not to actually PAY taxes...
