If you love his movies there are several centennial dvd box sets out. I picked up the 14 movie box set for $60.49 at Costco. You can also get a box set of his earlier movies featuring his 30's westerns.

I liked him and enjoy his movies.

"But this so-called new Liberal group, ...they never listen to your point of view…”

Lenny Bruce had the same criticism of the Left.

Here's the trend: It's been chic for a long time for liberals to identify with Stevenson and hate Nixon, for example. But how liberal are they if they can't be liberal with Nixon? Truth comes to all of us at different degrees and levels; those we love and those we hate are actually a part of us. Every reader knows, if he searches his soul, that he is part McCarthy, part Stevenson, part Krushchev, every antithesis combined. And, knowing this, you will hate sometimes. I will hate, have hated, and will continue hating. But I have come to the realization that I am certainly not superior to those I hate.

To tie it up, has Eisenhower and his Administration been corrupt? No. Has Eisenhower and his Administration purposely done damage to the country? No. Eisenhower and Administration are not mean, corrupt men - they are merely inadequate men who have proven their lack of leadership by popularizing the phrase "Yankee Go Home!"

Happy Birthday John Wayne. We miss you Friend.

I dont go to the theater any more. There is nothing worth seeing.

Watching Tom Cruise a 5’6” Simpleton try to play a hero just doesnt get it for me.

Where is John Wayne? He is on a couple of different movie channels on cable this week!!! Have had most all his greats on there. “In Harms Way” is one of my all time faves. “Quiet Man” is on right now.

The problem is now we have people following movie stars around 24/7 and their is no mystique left. Where once their was glamor we are now left with seeing them stumble out of clubs at 4 in the morning. And then someone asks them what they think about politics.

Many of the best actors are the ones who know how to stay out of the spotlight, and when they show up it is to publicize their movie not their latest pet cause. I never see or hear of Gary Oldman (the best going today imho) out pimping some cause. Of course I can't guarantee I can recognize him he looks so much different in every role. Ryan Gosling is a younger actor I could say the same thing about.

John Wayne movies, not Michael Moore and global warming movies, are what we should show to kids in school. The virtues of masculinity, toughness, loyalty and love of one’s country are ALL verboten these days. Unbelievable.

The Duke was given the name Marion Robert Morrison when he was born, but his middle name was changed to Michael when he was 5 years old, when his brother Robert was born.

He made too many great movies to have just one favorite, but I like The Searchers so much I named my son Ethan.

John Wayne is the reason I registered as a Republican as an 18 year old kid. He’s never steered my wrong. He was a truly great American.

John Wayne was born in 1907? Holy smokes I’ve always thought he was born in the 1920s.
