House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is on an overseas trip to embrace an audience and a topic for which President Bush has shown scant affection: "Old Europe" and global warming.
Pelosi, D-Calif., and seven other House members left Saturday for meetings with scientists and politicians in Greenland, Germany and Belgium on ways to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
The trip comes shortly before a climate change summit next month involving the leading industrialized nations and during a time of increased debate over what should succeed the Kyoto Protocol, a 1997 international treaty that caps the amount of carbon dioxide that can be emitted from power plants and factories in industrialized countries. It expires in 2012.
Bush rejected that accord, saying it would harm the U.S. economy and unfair excludes developing countries like China and India from its obligations.
Accompanying Pelosi on the trip are Markey and Reps. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore.; Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo.; Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin, D-S.D.; David Hobson, R-Ohio; John Larson, D-Conn.; and Hilda Solis, D-Calif.

Frankly, I don’t think that Pelosi should be ALLOWED to step within 1,500 yards of ANY Memorial Service that is supposed to HONOR OUR FALLEN, and I don’t give a rip on which day that is.
This opinion also holds true for REID, KENNEDY, MURTHA, DUR(t)BIN, SPECTER, COLLINS, SNOWE, et al.......
“Global warming” is just another excuse to re-distribute the wealth. I can’t think of anything more fitting than for Nancy to have to pick her own grapes!
I was at the Presidio Memorial Day remembrance in San Francisco today. Hell, even Tom Lantos, Leland Yee, and Fiona Ma (among others), all democrats, showed up to pay tribute and support. Mayor Newsome didn’t show up this year but he was present last year (his dad was a WW2 vet)

I Hope when Pelosi was in Greenland that she asked why Explorer Leif Erickson had to abandon Greenland in the 16th Century(??) because it was flooded. What caused the Polar caps to melt way back then?? Just wondering....

The thing you have to understand about liberals is that they are so self centered that in their mind history started the day they were born. Therefore they never will consider why there was cooling and warming throughout the Earth's history. They also cannot learn anything from past wars, etc. That is why they think you can negotiate with terrorists, despots, dictators, etc.
In short, as others have said, liberalism is a mental defect.
