MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it's time to replace an "on your own" society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.
The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an "ownership society" really is an "on your own" society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.
"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."
That means pairing growth with fairness, she said, to ensure that the middle-class succeeds in the global economy, not just corporate CEOs.
"There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed," she said. "Fairness doesn't just happen. It requires the right government policies."
Clinton spoke at the Manchester School of Technology, which trains high school students for careers in the construction, automotive, graphic arts and other industries. The school highlighted one of the nine goals she outlined: increasing support for alternative schools and community colleges.
"We have sent a message to our young people that if you don't go to college ... that you're thought less of in America. We have to stop this," she said. "Our country cannot run without the people who have the skills that are taught in this school."
Beyond education, Clinton said she would reduce special breaks for corporations, eliminate tax incentives for companies that ship jobs overseas and open up CEO pay to greater public scrutiny.
Clinton also said she would help people save more money by expanding and simplifying the earned income tax credit; create new jobs by pursuing energy independence; and ensure that every American has affordable health insurance.
Here it comes..... State owned business. State owned public utilities, etc.
Why isn’t this woman in jail with all the criminal activity she has done and don’t tell me no one can prove it. I bet they can.

Hell no.... And they won’t help the people that helped them either. Imagine living in a country where you have dictator that has absolute power over you? I think the people that used to help her(apparently the list is growing)are realizing with her in power; she will eventually turn on them too.

I am certain I read this before by other authors, Engels and Karl Marx! I do hope that Hillary is the Democrat nominee. She is giving us quote after quote that define her as the hard leftist socialist she is. She will not be that hard to defeat.
A redistribution of my wealth, your wealth all for Americans, err, illegals, whoever, who will not work or will not achieve what they might. All in the name of collectivism and an attack on free enterprise capitalism. This , of course, goes along with Americans who do not believe in competition or excellent work. Unfortunately, there are many now approaching 50% who want the Govt. to carry them from the cradle to the grave. And this is not even Europe!
Maybe she’ll share her cattle futures proceeds with us.

And there is another % who demand it is our moral responsiblity to carry them! Our responsiblity to carry someone who won't carry themselves...
Yes, I had a frightening conversation with someone of this thought process. She strongly believes we must carry them, no matter what. It is not their fault they need to be carried their entire lifetime.

I'm with her on eliminating corporate giveaways as long as we also eliminate transfer payments from taxpayers to individuals. We would be a better, stronger, and happier society if government abandoned the role of moving money from one person to another.
It'll never happen. We have moved irrevocably across that line. I think it likely that there is no longer a political solution to America's fundamental structural problems. The structure is now the problem.
I have slowly come to the conclusion that over time, it does not matter who we elect because the structure produces the same solution--more government, more control of the population, less free speech, and more power in the elites.
Of course, back on topic, HRC has no intention of eliminating corporate giveaways in any event. She trades them for campaign contributions.

I saw several news clips of this. OMG—shared? Hillary’s idea of shared means she is coming for the rich’s wallet (that is you and me per Dem definition) and will redistribute to the “poor”—that includes 20 million illegals and their families, which makers it 50 million Mexicans before you start counting.
They really do believe we are stupid.

Amazing; So we have to build our future on the backs of illiterate, farm pickers, or criminals, or ones who have no skilled mentalities or professions? Is this nuts? Bush, McCain , Kennedy are both just out of their minds on this . Legal immigrants should have skills that aid their new nation . This influx will bankrupt us and frankly will destroy the American culture.
