On May 23, 2007, the White House, silently and without any fanfare, released an official White House photo of Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne Cheney, welcoming their sixth grandchild, Samuel David Cheney, into the Cheney fold.
The beautiful little tyke weighed in at 8 lbs., 6 oz. and was born at 9:46 a.m. at Sibley House in Washington, D.C.
What is extremely troubling is the official White House caption that appears underneath the photo on the official White House website:
... His parents are the Cheney's daughter Mary, and her partner, Heather Poe. White House photo by David Bohrer.
Since when have two homosexual women been able to naturally procreate?
Fact is Mary Cheney, the Vice President's daughter - in one way or another - received a male's sperm. She is the biological mother, parent number one, and some man, somewhere out there, is Samuel David's real biological father, parent number two.
Unlike the official White House photo caption, a man and a woman, a Daddy and a Mommy, are Samuel David Cheney's REAL biological parents.
Then who is Heather Poe?
Heather Poe is Mary Cheney's live-in lesbian lover. She may act like a parent, she may treat the baby as a parent, she may love this baby with all of her heart, but in this reality we all live in, Heather Poe is NOT the baby's real parent. She has NO biological connection to the child whatsoever. Some man, the baby's real Daddy, is the child's other REAL parent.
If the Vice President and his wife Lynne are joining their daughter Mary in playing this homosexual game of "house," then all have chosen their roles and designated lesbian lover Heather Poe as the "Daddy."
Everyone knows there can only be one REAL biological Mommy. We are all grown adults. Playing "house" is a game for children, not for The White House or the Vice President and his wife.
What is so hypocritical of this Administration is its "double-speak."
President George W. Bush held several presses conferences calling for a Federal Marriage Amendment to protect the God-ordained institution of marriage between one man and one woman, while homosexuals pushed for the union of two men or two women to be equally recognized as real "marriage."
However, the President's number two, right hand man, Vice President Dick Cheney, clearly rebels against his superior, makes a public mockery of the President and the current Administration he is supposed to represent, and clearly holds to a different set of moral standards and beliefs.
When President Bush stood on the victory stage several years ago after being elected into office by values voters, Mary Cheney was on stage as well with her lesbian lover, Heather Poe. It was a slap in the face to the values voters who had just elected the duo into office. That wound has never healed.
While this little innocent child Samuel David Cheney deserves every fighting chance at life, the sins of two women, Mary Cheney and Heather Poe, have deliberately denied the Vice President's grandson one of the most basic human rights of all: the right to a Daddy and a Mommy.
I say shame on the White House, shame on the President and shame on the Vice President for allowing such a caption to be "officially" added onto the White House website and such a beautiful photo of two happy grandparents and their new grandchild.
I guess we can tragically and officially say both the White House and Bush Administration have officially recognized the sinful sexual unions of homosexuals, as well as recognized and embraced the tragedy of the social experiment of homosexual parenting.
Why not? They recognize illegal border invaders...
I think they are officially recognizing little Samuel David. Period.
These aren’t good arguments at all. Is adoption also “playing house” because the parents are not biological? Doesn’t make sense.
I’m with you.
So he has no father?
This thread is being hijacked. Remain in your seats. We are returning to the airport.
I think you are correct. I think Dick Cheney handles this situation in exemplary fashion.
You can still love someone even when you don’t agree with them. The Cheney’s obviously love their daughter, and will love their grandson.
I think the Bush White House has lost all sense of direction.
Yes, it is.
I’ve seen nothing to indicate the Cheneys disagree with their daughter on her lifestyle.
What is so hypocritical of this Administration is its “double-speak.”
true, but other issues this WH and administration double-speak about are downright dangerous and subversive to our country and our way of life.
LOL! Good one!
This shouldn’t be turned into a political statement.
I was thinking the same thing. My wife and I have two adopted sons and I'm sure they consider us their "real parents."
You could turn this argument around and argue that a biological father who deserts the mother before the child is born is a "real parent." That wouldn't make any sense at all.
That being said, the caption under the picture of Cheney's grandchild could have said "Cheney celebrates, along with his daughter's partner, the birth of Mary's child..."
I think they are reading into it to much as well. They act as though Cheney should have nothing to do with his daughter or grandson... not exactly Christian-like (before anybody points it out, yes, I know, Cheney has made it clear he has no problem with homosexuals marrying - I’m not arguing that one o way or the other, just that Cheney and his wife have acted appropriately in regards to their daughter/grandson).
No wonder I'm confused. I was raised in a foster home by two people who later adopted me when I was around three and half years old. For as long as I can remember, I have referred to these two people as "mom," "dad," and "my parents." Thanks to the Christian News Wire, I now realize that my real parents are not the people who fed me, housed me, clothed me, and cared for me when I was sick -- because I do not have a biological connection to them -- but rather, my real parents are two strangers who I know nothing about other than they were so dysfunctional that social services removed me from them and placed me in foster care and eventually initiated proceeding to terminate their parental rights, which they did not bother to oppose.
Should Dick Cheney strangle the kid when none are looking? What would happen if they refused to see the child?
There is a good chance that the “father” will split before too long, it happens lot in these types of partnerships.
The child deserves love and forgiveness and will need more support from the grandparents than one raised in a healthily normal family. It looks like Cheney and his wife will make a good set of grand parents.
The paernts are the mother and whoever donated the sperm.
Most definitely.
What would you have him do, specifically?
Agreed. Weak argument.
I have no qualms with the Cheneys welcoming this little angel into their family. My only question is, have they issued official pictures when their other 5 grandchildren were born?
Congratulations to Dick and Lynne Cheney on the grandbaby. He is theirs; they love him.
What are they supposed to do?
Ick.
I agree. Dick Cheney will be a loving grandfaher and will continue to be a loving father. Disowning one’s children because they are gay is not an act of love. Being a good father, and in this case a grandfather, too, in spite of his daughter’s ‘preference’ is a very big act of fatherly love. I mean, come on, this baby has Dick Cheney as a grandfather!
THank you for asking that question.
I will enjoy crickets chirping as I wait for some of these poster to reply.
Bush is morphing into more of a democrat before our eyes. What’s the surprise?
Reading this as sometype of endorsement is ridiculous.
This forum certainly has people who feel strongly about issues, but trying to read something like this into a family photo shows a Kerry-like spin on Lynn.
I would say they are definitely reading into it AND quite a dishonest title if you ask me. That is a stretch at best. I was expecting to read something about how George Bush added something on the website praising gay marriage or something. This is just a total distortion of the truth. Man I think this website and whoever the author is wanted George Bush to spit on Vice President Cheney or something. I am not for all this nonsense either, but to lie and distort is not right.
Let no one suggest he is the second coming.
No, you have The Parents Group who wrote this article to thank for this. Christian News Wire neither writes nor edits the articles on it site. It is merely a site where Christian groups can present their own press releases.
If Seinfeld has to say “not that there’s anything wrong with that” in an episode discussing homosexuality, how about if our representatives, like Bush, are required to say, “not that we recommend children being raised in same-sex arrangements”?
What’s good for the goose...
Of course this won’t happen, because it’s not PC. But it is PC that is killing us as a nation and helping to split the traditional family apart, which is the bedrock of our nation.
No, we’ll all just smile and say automatically, like Pavlov’s dogs whenever we mention what doesn’t look right and what history has proved to be harmful to people and nations, “not that there’s anything wrong with that.”
I imagine the White House has photographers on call every working day, as various photo ops occur. Lynne Cheney visited her father with his grandson, and the VP asked that a picture be taken.
I doubt whether Bush had anything to do with it, or that it means anything except that the Cheneys wanted a picture and a photographer was handy.
The photographer is paid by the government and puts his usual heading on it, to identify the photo in the usual manner.
Thanks for the clarification.
>>Personally I think they are reading way too much into this, but I would agree that the caption to the photo isn’t in line with Whitehouse policy.<<
I’m not sure what policy this violate. Adoptive parents are frequently called parents. Its also just a courtesy to the child to not dwell on the lack of marital status or gender of the adoptive parent - its not the child’s fault.
Policy goes to Federal recognition of gay marriage and I think the Bush43 administration has been pretty clear on that.
but I would say something like this...
"I love my new grandchild and am blessed. I also love my daughter too, but I disagree with her decision to have a homosexual relationship and to raise a child in a homosexual relationship."
I have no suggestions on what the Cheneys should do in this situation, but I can tell you what I did.
I have a gay daughter and have been loving and accepting of her and her partner, but not of their lifestyle. We have made clear our opinions, but my wife and I do not make life uncomfortable for them because of our opinions.
When they announced that they were going to try and get pregnant, we sat them down and explained our position. We explained why we believed that children should have a mother and a father and told them that, should they go though with this, we would sue for custody of our grandchild. We assured them that living in the South that we had a better than even chance of winning.
Though they were not happy with our decision, they still visited and were welcomed and we have always been welcomed at their home. They thought of moving elsewhere but didn't like any of the places with more liberal laws. (A lesson in how liberalism ruins a place) It has now been eight years and still no babies.
You maybe right. About the author:
Bennett lived the homosexual lifestyle for over 11 years with over 100 partners, until he finally left it all in 1992. Today, Stephen is happily married to his wife Irene of almost 14 years. The couple has two beautiful children, a young boy and a girl.
Bennett has appeared on almost every major network and cable news program, advocating for the traditional family, the protection of children and proclaiming the truth about homosexuality.
I believe that also, but do you see the venom that the White House has generated for themselves with this immigration crap? Now they can do nothing right. And rightly so, I guess. People are now so angry they don’t want to see the president or the horse he rode in on under any circumstances.
“I think the Bush White House has lost all sense of direction.”
I agree.
There once was a time this would have been swept under the rug.
Fact is, two lesbians are going to raise a child that will have instilled in him that homosexuality is a normal and accepted lifestyle....and on and on and on and on.
Moral decay folks! plain and simple...and from the top.
So basically this guy had his jollies from about 20 to 31 years old and then suddenly said “Well the fun is over. Time for serious life.” I find that is possible, but then how can he complain about someone who is currently homosexual when that person may find out it is not the life for them at their own time. I bet you a car that the Cheney’s daughter did not have 100 partners in 11 years. I am not trying to condone the Cheney’s daughter just trying to show people that this guy led the life he now hates and expects everyone not to do the same. I know I am not explaining this right, but I wish the guy would bash somebody besides a Republican. I think we get enough of that from our advisaries. This guy is supposedly on our side.
You’re correct but this isn’t an example of it.
