Moby Says God Destroys Republicans (Spouts Out On Evangelicals, Bush Gone Hippy? & Thompson)

Moby is nuts ! Or is he ?

Moby 'believes' God destroys American Republicans with natural disasters. The musician - who is a staunch Democrat - is enraged by who suggest hurricanes and earthquakes are sent by God to destroy sinners, and has come up with a new theory about why the tragedies might occur.

Moby wrote on his personal website: "You know how the religious right will every now and then say that some natural disasters - hurricanes, earthquakes, etc - happen because God is angry at secular sinners?"I mean, personally, I tend to think that things like hurricanes and tornadoes happen for non-anthropocentric reasons and are, actually, just examples of extreme and arbitrary weather."But if natural disasters are, as the evangelicals maintain, a sign of God's wrath, then what does it mean that 90 per cent of the damage caused by tornadoes and hurricanes in the US happen in right-wing, Republican states that are heavily populated by evangelicals?

"Again, I'm of the 'weather tends to happen because of climatological factors' school of thought."But the evangelicals have on plenty of occasions tried to maintain that natural disasters are the products of God's wrath. For example, they said that Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans because New Orleans was hosting a gay pride weekend.

"I'm not making light of the damage done by natural disasters in the US, I'm just trying to point out another small logical inconsistency on the part of our evangelical pals."

Well, Moby didn't really come out and say:
"God Destroys American Republicans";
nor does he really believe it (" i'm of the 'weather tends to happen because of climatoligical factors' school of thought")
was just a Times Square attention grabber only.
Grabbed me.
Grabbed you.
Moby mostly singles out:"but right-wing evangelicals(like pat robertson and jerry falwell((rip))have on plently of occasions tried to maintain that natural disasters are the products of god's wrath("for hosting a gay pride weekend")

Note the Left and/or Media story above -Times Square- often travel to great lengths to "stereotype" all Republicans as Evangelicals.
Is that always a good thing? I sometimes ask; or frustrating when you hear some religious "speak" that can make even me, a Conservative, squirm or even let's say VP Cheney squirm?

You should come to realize from Moby's Journal that he is "playing" with another's logic, he just plays sort of "tit for tack" on "this and that".

Moby in his (Journal) quips if we are seeing a hidden New Flower Child in George Bush?
(Now..Don't say it didn't cross your mind!) :

Moby:"..in other news, gw bush is now a hippy.
in the last week he's:
a-talked about imposing more sanctions on sudan
b-talked about increasing spending on aids in africa
and
c-talked about meeting with other major polluting
nations and doing something about global warming
..is he listening to phish and smoking humboldt county chronic?
maybe he woke up the other day and said:
'ok, i'm done with the evil phase of my presidency, time
for me to be the sunflower-child i know myself to be.'
huh.
and fred thompson, the law&order actor is going to run for president.
in the future i think that only actors will be allowed to run for public office.
ok, back to work.
moby

Moby gives his thoughts on the $27,000,000 Creation Museum-Adam and Eve in the Land of the Dinosaurs .."this just boggles my mind, Moby says, "let's just do a little biblical scholarship, ok?". You can read the rest of his thoughts http://www.moby.com/journal

Some of you might enjoy the read; others, of course, will not.

Have a good weekend.

God can/has meted out punishment through disasters but only rarely. Always preceded by a warning from a prophet of God.

Moby’s got a lot of logical fallacies (or should that be phallus-ies?) going there himself, but I really don’t feel much like wading into a cesspool of adolescent ‘intellectualizing’ right now.

what does it mean that 90 per cent of the damage caused by tornadoes and hurricanes in the US happen in right-wing, Republican states that are heavily populated by evangelicals?

It means that you're an idiot who can't grasp the meteorological reasons hurricanes don't affect New York, Massachussetts and California with the same frequency and strength as they affect southern and midwestern states.

Try reading a book sometime, nancy.

?"I mean, personally, I tend to think that things like hurricanes and tornadoes happen for non-anthropocentric reasons and are, actually, just examples of extreme and arbitrary weather."

Profound! Whoever could imagine such a thing? I'm just glad I'm sitting down!

Does this dude have, like, his own church or something that I could, like, go to?

You know, I really tried to wade through that intellectually adolescent maelstrom of random thoughts, but all I could come up with was “...blah blah blah evangelicals are stupid evil people blah blah blah...”
