"For those concerned about border security, this bill focuses on border security."

So did the last bill (1986), and you are not enforcing the borders as required by law.

There are some who -- I don't know if they say this explicitly, but they certainly allege or hint that probably the best way to deal with 11 million to 12 million people is to get them to leave the country. That's impossible.

Didn't need to read any further than this...WAKE UP BUSH...what an idiot. And, yes, I intentionally left the PRESIDENT label off.

"And the two go hand-in-hand.”

Yep, let's slap the base in the head before we go any further in our discussion...

” I say the system isn’t working because there’s a lot of Americans who say that the government is not enforcing our border. I say the system is broken because there are people coming into America to do work that Americans are not doing, and there are good, decent employers who unknowingly are hiring them, which is against the law.”

1. the first part is an odd one, distancing himself from his own decisions to not enforce borders.

2. Though revealing as in "1.", I think he meant to say, "Some say" at first. Some say "broken" means no enforcement. He redefines "broken" to be the fact there is not complete labor mobility across the border, though he still carries a sense of shame, fantasizing that the illegals are only doing the jobs "Americans" won't do.

It's all very odd.

But I would remind people that you cannot fully enforce the border so long as people are trying to sneak in this country to do jobs Americans aren't doing. [ P R O J E C T I L E V O M I T ]

I would remind people that you cannot fully enforce laws agaist theft so long as people are trying to steal other people's property. Thus, we should solve the theft problem by legalizing theft and releasing all the unjustly imprisoned thieves.

"This bill is not amnesty, but it recognizes that it is impossible for this country to rout people out of our society and "send them home." It's just not going to happen."

And with "wink, wink" and a small fine to pay he DARES call this bill NOT AMNESTY?!

Every time he mentions we can't "send them home", a thousand more head for our Homeland.

This shameful CIF Bill is "just not going to happen"..Back at cha, Bush.

I would remind people that you cannot fully enforce laws against murder so long as people are trying to murder other people. Thus, we should solve the murder problem by legalizing murder and releasing all the unjustly imprisoned murderers.

I would remind people that you cannot fully enforce laws against rape so long as people are trying to rape other people. Thus, we should solve the rape problem by legalizing rape and releasing all the unjustly imprisoned rapists.

""I want to address a couple of the key issues that people are addressing. If you want to kill a bill, then you just go around America saying, this is amnesty. In other words, there are some words that illicit strong reactions from our fellow citizens.""

"Some would say President Bush is suffering greatly from a phobia and father-guilt. The predecent event was his promise of "no amnesty", the phobia from his father's "read my lips" event and its aftermath. Locked in fear of being defined as a liar forever, he displaces, projects, whatever, these fears onto others defining them as the problems, not himself and his record.

Or he's just a blockhead.

You are correct Unk. Peggy hit the nail on the head.

For those interested in reading her article Click Here

Here is the opening of her great piece:

"What political conservatives and on-the-ground Republicans must understand at this point is that they are not breaking with the White House on immigration. They are not resisting, fighting and thereby setting down a historical marker--"At this point the break became final." That's not what's happening. What conservatives and Republicans must recognize is that the White House has broken with them."

He is always telling us how good this bill will be for the illegals but fails to say why it would be good for America. If you can't sell why it would be good for the nation then best not trying selling it at all.

I am so upset over this, I feel that my own government prizes illegals over me and my family. Sorry RNC I really can't come up with a good reason to vote republican, heck even vote period, when you refuse to listen to 86% of the population. Sad, oh so very sad!

The system is broken because there are people who are exploiting human beings for material gain. There are coyotes-- those are human smugglers -- charging decent people large sums of money to come and work to put food on the table for their families.

No, the system is broken because the USG lacks the will to enforce its own laws and secure its own borders.

Man oh man. I can't even listen to him anymore. Just like Clinton/Kerry, everything is nuanced.

Goebbels would be proud!

"Unknowingly" ROFL

You're WRONG Mr. President and those other Americans are right! WRONGWRONGWRONG!

It's a done deal. They're gonna ram this abomination through no matter the calls, emails, faxes and letters.

House better stop it because its going through the Senate at all costs.
