Actually Penn’s quote is pretty close to the mark, BUT NOT how he meant it

First, it's a direct quote taken from his open letter that he posted after his speech. And, though, I didn't comment on the context, that is what he said.

Second, I would agree with Penn about the people in Iran being great people. Maybe Sean Penn could comment on Jimmah' Carter being the cause of the seat of power being held by such whack jobs like Ahmicrazynutjob?

Maybe Sean Penn's speech could have talked about the "great" people of Iran that have been slaughtered or imprisoned since the Shah was thrown out of power? (A good Iranian friend of mine's family is still either in jail or dead because they supported the Shah. That is real stuff).

Third, it's interesting that at Sean Penn spent a helluva lot more time bashing his own country and the President than he commented on Ahmicrazynutjob being another Hitler. It would be nice if elitist pricks like Sean Penn would condemn a-holes like this more often; rather than brush them aside with inflammatory rhetoric about his own country.

Remember: my country...right or wrong. And, last I checked, even though he can't put 2 words together in public without stammering over himself, I have never heard of President Bush call for the extermination of an entire race of people.

Maybe when Ahmicrazynutjob (again!) reiterates that he wants the extermination of an entire race, maybe guys like Sean Penn can find their way to condemn that. Maybe? Oh, probably not.
