Who Owns Your Life?
The New Media Journal ^ | June 4, 2007 | Alan Burkhart

Posted on 06/04/2007 1:20:17 PM PDT by NewMediaJournal

With the release of Jack "Doctor Death" Kevorkian from prison, I found myself thinking back to a movie from the early 80's titled "Whose Life is it, Anyway?" The film starred Richard Dreyfuss as a sculptor who was paralyzed from the neck down in an auto accident. In the movie, Dreyfuss' character is faced with the prospect of a life of dependency, unable to pursue his dreams or live with even a shred of dignity.

Dreyfuss requests that his life support be switched off and a dramatic court battle ensues. He has both allies and opponents, including a doctor who is determined to stop him from ending his life. In the event that you haven’t seen the movie, I won’t spoil it for you by telling you how it ends. It’ll tug the strings of the coldest heart.

Dr. Kevorkian, during his heyday as both an advocate and a facilitator of physician-assisted suicide, stirred the nation’s emotional stew pot to the boiling point. Hounded like Frankenstein’s monster by some and heralded as a hero by others, Jack Kevorkian left his mark on society before being sent off to prison for the death of Thomas Youk of Michigan.

Unfortunately, Kevorkian may be his own worst enemy as well as that of those who seek to legalize assisted suicide. While he is passionate and sincere in his beliefs, he appears a bit unbalanced. The man promised “death with dignity,” but he repeatedly dumped the bodies of his customers at hospitals and morgues, and sometimes left them in the motel rooms where he performed the procedure. His actions made him appear to be less an angel of mercy than a dangerously eccentric old man with a penchant for playing doctor.

1 Corinthians 6

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

In the US, you life is owned by the Federal Government. (Or will soon be owned — if we stack the supreme court properly.)

The government owns a fetus (soon) even if its inside the body of a woman who does not want to carry it.

The government can kill us, if the courts wish to do so.

The government can prolong the agony of a terminal illness until we die in blinding pain.

I have no problem with any of this.

Then keep "dear old mum" close at hand. Or have a trusted relative, neighbor or friend keep watch.

More of Pauls nonsense ramblings in the Bible those are not the words of Christ.

I always wondered why any of Paul’s writings are still included in the Bible. He was shill for the Mithraic religion and rewrote the words of Christ to suit him and his cult.

They're the words of a chosen apostle of Christ.

What kind of fight are you trying to start, NOOB?

This is the wrong place to be slamming the Bible.

Im not slamming the bible I am slamming Paul who abused and twisted the words of Christ for his own aggrandisement. Who was only a chosen apostle in his own mind in fact he wrote that he was a chosen apostle.

He then went about preaching and said he was elaborating on what Christ had said when he decided that women had no place in Christian churches other than to be silent,(Not what Christ said in fact Christ encouraged women of faith to show and explain that faith). Paul added several of his own personal prejudices into the faith besides that including adding things to the faith that included Mithriac rituals and ideas that Christ would have abhorred.

Paul was a pretender and the real Church was that Church in England formed while Paul was still manhandling the gospel. The Celtic Church taught the actual gospel and had female clergy, priests that could and did marry Easter at the proper time of year and that was only over turned when the Church of Rome stamped them out and honest worship of Christ has only recently began to reemerge now that we as protestants are beginning to disregard much of Paul’s misogynous teachings.

That would come as a shock to the early fathers of the Church like St. Iraeneus, S Justin Martyr, and St Luke.

You should pick up a copy of the History of the Church by Eusebius(311AD).

One of the earliest heresies was that all one had to do was profess the Name of Jesus and live a good life. That was in the 2nd century AD.

Here’s the thing....if a citizen wants to kill his or her self they are free as all get out to do so.

Involving another party and/or the government is stupid, silly, and selfish. Get a gun, point it to your head, and pull the goddamn trigger. And don’t go accusing me of not caring about the suffering. I cheer the suffering to end their life. I don’t want them causing all this crap in the society they are leaving behind.

As for Kervorkian...guy was a perverted creep, pure and simple.

1. Jesus did not attend or preach at any such church. 2. Jesus was a Jew. He attended a Jewish synagogue and kept the Jewish sabbath. 3. Paul was an apostle of Christ. 4. All scripture in the Bible is profitable and there for a reason.

The Lord has given me free will to do as I will. I choose to try my hardest to live up to His commandments. Being human, I fail miserably at times.

Dr. Kevorkian has also been given free will. Like all of us, he too will answer for his freely chosen actions.

A good friend of mine who was not a religious believer was paralyzed from the shoulders down due to a spinal tumor. He only lived another couple of years after his paralysis and endured great despair but continued to write books using a computer and when he died, died of natural causes. I am a Christian but cannot comprehend how I would feel or react under similar circumstances. I regard my friend as a spiritual hero for enduring as he did, but I find it very difficult to pass judgment on others who are tempted to take drastic measures to cut short their suffering.

The Early Catholic fathers of the Church were Paul’s fellow travelers and guilty of the desecration of Christ’s word and the creation of Paul as the paramount Christian speaker.

Paul was a self proclaimed apostle and was not anointed by God in any way shape or form. The Bible as it is today did not take the form it now has until well into the 3-4 century AD and that form was the rejection of scriptures by the early Catholic Church that weren’t in line with the teachings of Paul rather than in line with the teaching of Christ. In fact there is much evidence pointing to Paul as a worshiper of Mithra rather than Christ and Paul used Christianity as a convenient vehicle to promote that religion.

If you don’t believe me do a search on Mithra and it’s rituals and beliefs compare these to the teachings of Paul. Also realize the the center of Mithra worship was Tarsus the city of Paul’s birth and most roman citizens that lived there were practitioners on the Mithriac faith including Paul’s father.

For Christ Sake the Vatican is situated on top of a temple dedicated to the worship of Mithra. December 25 was the Birthday of Mithra, Easter was the day Mithra rose from the dead, and priests in the Mithraic church were not allowed to marry. Paul is preaching a different gospel from Christ.

It seems to me I know a bit more about the formation of the Bible as it is today than any of you so asking me to look up a book on the History of the Church is a bit ludicrous as i know more about said history than yourself.

As to the Bible being a perfect and whole document let’s not make me laugh. The Bible is a conglomeration of books and letters that were acceptable to the early catholic church which had it’s own secular notions about what they wanted to be included. In many ways the Bible was created in committee and a committee about as corrupt as any you might find on Capital Hill.

In fact Christ may have taught and preached at that church in Glastonbury as his uncle owned mines in the Roman colony there and it is believed Christ spent some of his youth in England.

Yes Christ was a Jew it didn’t keep him from preaching outside of accepted Jewish doctrine.

Paul appointed himself a apostle of Christ on the road to Jerusalem as he road from Tarsus. My belief is that Paul was a Con man at worst Cult leader who twisted Christ’s words at best.

The Bible as i have said earlier is merely a book formed in committee by the early Catholic Church with the secular opinions of the Catholic Father’s firmly in mind when the Bible was accepted. There is much they decided to throw away even verses they changed and authors of books they changed because it did not fit in accepted dogma laid down by Paul.

I’ve got a question to ask you. If I ignore the words of Paul and rely only on the words written in the Gospels Matthew Mark Luke and John, Do I go to Heaven?

What does Paul bring to the Christian table that is so important? Think about it.

Christ may have donned a Superman cape and went around thwarting evil, but He didn't. If you don't believe in the Bible then all you are doing is following the vain imaginations of your own mind. You have no true compass to distinguish right from left or right from wrong.

You are a victim of too little classical education. Sorry if you don’t realize that the Roman empire of the time included England and that Roman documents show that members of Christ’s family owned property there.

You believe your little bit of nonsense and go about your day without looking into what Paul said and did that contradicts the words of Christ. It is a shame you believe a lie told for almost two thousand years instead of looking into the truth. Sorry you have been mislead but so has almost all Christians for far too long.
