ANSWER is planning a massive coordinated rally with UFPJ and World Can't Wait. The date has not been set yet, but they want to hold their rally either in November of this year or on March 22nd, 2008. The Gathering of Eagles, FreeRepublic, MoveAmericaForward, RightMarch and ProtestWarrior must be prepared to counter this with the LARGEST patriotic rally ever seen in DC.

If every anti-war coalition and organization came together on a particular day, and with enough advance notice, under the simple demand End the War Now it would be easily possible to mobilize one million people. The political mood in the country exists to make this happen.
So as to facilitate the greatest degree of coordination between organizations to build a massive outpouring, the ANSWER Coalition is not unilaterally setting a date for this potentially million-strong march and rally. However, we recommend holding it sometime in November of 2007, or on March 22, 2008--the fifth anniversary of the war." In order to have such a huge demonstration, enough time must be given to allow the organizations and coalitions to come together and for intensive national outreach and organizing.
This period of time between now and the demonstration would not be a period of quiet, it would be a time of intensifying anti-war activity and education at the local and regional level culminating in this mass action. Unfortunately, unless the political relationship of forces changes inside the United States or in Iraq, the war and occupation will continue through November and beyond. We are proposing a specific tactic that can contribute to shifting the equation. "

I can see them picking Veteran’s Day and even possibly the Thanksgiving Weekend. Possibly even trying to disrupt the NY Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Why counter protest? You are never going to get as much attention as your own march. Does anyone care what the commies say anymore. Letting them blather on on CSPAN is the worst - for them. I made several anti-war types I know watch it and even they said is was absurd.
Why add to the event? Do your own “troops” rally on your own day.

It turned out to be a scorcher of a day, and being just one event in an event-packed Rolling Thunder weekend, was not as well attended as March 17th. It was a good rally, and the hosts were great and hard working people. So, while you thought that your photo was a dis on the DC Chapter, in reality you dissed the good folks with Rolling Thunder National.

If you feel this way about the President then it demonstrates your inability to have relationships. As a friend pointed out last night, it is like being married. I can’t see them doing November since it would be freezing. March is traditionally when they protest. Although they might be setting up a fake out. I’ll keep my ears open.
Regardless of when they protest, remember that since everyone can’t get to DC, ANSWER will have events nation-wide. So watch your local chapter and organize a counter. In fact, start it now! We always get caught lagging behind. Let’s not allow that to happen this time! Don’t let the Commies prevail!
If they do it in November, they would probably also do it in March. It’s a tradition for them. And they are probably trying to do this in a way that keeps our numbers down. However, you can organize a counter rally in your town.
The reason to counter protests is that there are people watching. Also, it disheartens the Commies. They were really shaken that GOE was happening at all. The anti-war people who told you that it was absurd said that because the rally was a success. I can tell you that from personal experience that the moonbats we counter every week are disheartened by our presence event though we are small in number to them.
The reason to counter them on their day is to spoil their party. If they seem unopposed then their message of “we are the voice of the American people” seems valid. This is not to say that we should do events on our own. It is that we need to do both.

The AFL-CIO lets ANSWER use their conference facilities to hold planning meetings for demonstrations. When that’s not made available, they use the CWA ofices.

I respect all of you that counter the Lefties for I know all too well what they are like, since I have do so for years now. sometimes with far smaller numbers than you enjoy. However, for bmw to suggest that the President is aligned with the Left is outrageous. As someone who has countered these evil folks he should know better. I do not owe him an apology.
