One of the things that GK Chesterton ascerted about canabalism is that it was not a primitive feature of a society but rather a decadent sophisticated one.

And we are playing God when we manipulate ourselves and our offspring this way. Original Sin is the sin of pride. “You can live forever and be like gods.” Said the Devil.

That indeed is the scenario for laboratory baby-selection. Same as abortion, except you kill the "bad embryos" right in the lab.
"That's a human being" is not accepted as a reason for clemency.
The Catholic Church has the right take on this: any reproduction outside of marital intercourse is morally wrong. Why? Because it is an indignity to the child, who deserves --- deserves! has a right!---to be the fruit of an act of wedded love.

I think that some of those people are already with us. They profess to believe that there is no difference between a dog and a boy.
I am certain these days that our country is under little or no protection from this evil that we have allowed to last for so many years.
More children are murdered in this country alone everyday than died on 9/11.
St Michael the Archangel be our protection against the snares and mallace of the Devil.

You got it!! These are dangerous, sinful ideas and as usual, hypocritical. Liberals have for years pretended to be the ones to protect the down trodden, helpless, etc. At the same time, they convey the message that these people are undesirable and should be aborted.
We will reap what we sow. As the aunt of a delightful niece with Downs and the grandparent of a grandson diagnosed with autism as a youngster and now on the verge of an engineering career, I get very defensive when anyone indicates that one human may be less desirable than another.
I also have family members with Huntington's Disease. Does God love one less than another? I think not.

Does God love one less than another? I think not. We are all imperfect and God loves all of us.
He sent His Son to teach us, among other things, that we are not supposed to treat some people better than others.

With regards to your tagline; the Truman administration like the Roosevelt administration was riddled with KGB agents who lobbied to affect policy very effectively

Great post.
I would also like to point out the audacity and extreme arrogance of a human being second guessing God and his plan for each and everyone of us. Some of our pathetic fellow humans think they are so self important that they feel they can choose who lives or dies and if you live what you will look like, etc.
These ilk leave me speechless at times.

To: syriacus
Thank you. My biological father was an alcoholic. My genes aren’t perfect. I’d rather have a world full of Downs than liberals.
To: Mr. Silverback
My first thought, from the headline, was Nazi Germany trying to create the “superior race”.
My sister-in-law had Downs Syndrome. Of course, she did not lead a natural “life”, but she was a joy to many around her. I knew, in marrying her sister, that there was the possibility that we may have an imperfect child. I felt that God gave me my wife to love, no matter the future.
My sister-in-law died several years ago. I wrote this for her memorial: “Unto this world was born a child, unlike others. Throughout her life, her gentle smile brought joy and a faith that, through Jesus, we are all whole in Heaven.”
Amen

Re our discussions on the dangers of in vitro to the child: Sadly, my IVF-conceived great-nephew has been diagnosed as very high-performing autistic. (Possibly he is not autistic at all, but he does have delayed language development for sure.) His grandmother told me that the current suspicion in the medical profession is that it is the hormones that the women take before trying IVF that are causing the problem, not the IVF itself. The proportion of boys with these conditions has skyrocketed--now at one in 90.
To: firebrand
There is a syndrome which aflicts boys related to delayed language.
Thomas Sowell's son had this condition, and he has written about this.
