MSNBC HOST DEFENDS COMMENTS BY LYING, REFUSING TO APOLOGIZE, TAKING CHEAP SHOTS AT BLOGGERS
By now, TPS readers are well aware that Joe Scarborough had an Imus moment on his MSNBC show this week when he wondered out loud whether Fred Thompsons pretty young wife worked the pole as he giggled lecherously over his sexual double entendre.
So we werent exactly shocked when, on todays Morning Joe, Scarborough spun seven full minutes of air time trying to explain away his crude remark. In doing so he not only lied, he misquoted himself. But what really shocked us was that he began attacking every blogger and news source that covered the comment.
And he did all of this without even once uttering the word pole. At one point, he actually refused to acknowledge the type of exercise program to which he was allegedly referring. That would be like Imus trying to describe what he really said without using the words nappy or ho.

Joe Scarborough can spin all he wants. Fred Thompson hit the nail on the head when he called the media jerks who criticized his family and wife “Bozos”.

By the way, MSNBC's phone number is (201) 583-5000. You can reach Congressional Quarterly at (202) 419-8500. You probably ought to keep calling.
Just think it bears repeating. :-)

Good. Maybe now MSNBC will quit trying to promote “Morning Joe.” He’s been awful. Tucker has a sidekick by the name of Willie Geist. Willie has a great delivery and they should give him a shot at hosting the morning slot for a week. Gawd, do I miss Imus!

Yep. That’s exactly what he said. Personally, I think his wife is not only bright, she is beautiful and an great asset for his campaign. Let the jealous people talk, Fred has a secret weapon.

Tucker can do good work but both he and Scarborough think they have to talk over everyone like Matthews does. Willie just sees humor in everthing. I look forward to the last five minutes of Tucker’s show when Willie is on.

I almost hate to admit it, but when I first read the post/transcript on FR when this first broke, I thought that's what he was talking about. Took me a good solid minute to figure out what the big deal was. D'OH!

I’m surprised that people are shocked by this.
Being a moldering scumbag is a prerequisite to be employed with PMSnbc...
Chris Matthews - scumbag? Check
Keith Olbermann - scumbag? Check
Joe Scarbourough - scumbag? Check
And of course he lied about it, even when the truth serves you best, a LIEberal can’t help it, it’s as natural as breathing for this kind of filth to avoid the truth at all costs.

I didn’t know anything about Bill Geist except I like what he does on Sunday Morning. Didn’t know he was born in 1945 either.
This caught my eye:
“Geist served as a combat photographer with the First Infantry Division in Vietnam (1969).”

If Mrs. Thompson were to work a pole, it should be to take said pole, and work it up Joe’s backside sideways.

Frankly, seeing Scarborough take the heat is satisfying. He apparently has ignored his conservative beginnings and become a shill for the libs at PMSNBC.
Shows me he really didn't have too much upstairs to begin with.
