Muslim extremists forcibly turn Catholic church into mosque (coincide w/ funeral for slain priest)
Catholic News Agency ^ | June 6, 2007

Posted on 06/06/2007 1:51:01 PM PDT by NYer

CNA).- On the same day as Father Ragheed Ganni’s funeral, Muslim fundamentalists sent another message of hatred to Catholics, this time attacking two churches in Iraq. Fr. Ragheed, along with three deacons were killed just this past Sunday after they had finished celebrating Mass.

According to the AINA news agency, two churches were attacked in the Baghdad district of Dora.  At St. John the Baptist’s in Hay Al-Athoriyeen, several security guards who protect the church were killed, and St. Jacob’s in Hay al Asya was vandalized and forcibly turned into a mosque.  St. Jacob’s had previously been attacked in October of 2004.

The attacks coincided with the funeral Mass for Father Ganni which was being celebrated in Karamles by Archbishop Faraj Rahho of Mosul amidst tight security.  The minister of finance of the regional Kurdish government, Sarkis Aghajan, attended the service.

On June 7 in Rome Msgr. Philip Najim, procurator of the Patriarchate of Babylon of the Chaldeans, will celebrate a Mass in memoriam of Father Ganni and the three deacons who were killed with him.

This has been an unbelievably frightening day for the Catholic Church in Iraq. Never before have I posted so many stories in one year - much less one day, on the persecution of this faithful remnant. Please remember all of them in your prayers!

On June 7 in Rome Msgr. Philip Najim, procurator of the Patriarchate of Babylon of the Chaldeans, will celebrate a Mass in memoriam of Father Ganni and the three deacons who were killed with him.

Yet are troops are supposed to respect the supposed sanctity of a mosque despite the terrorists hiding inside it.

We need a “Take the gloves off” campaign started.

We either need to win this war with force, force, more force, (and a bit of shock and awe), or get the heck out, put a fence around the place and let those left starve. Continuing to let the people who would do this breath leaves us looking weak. Why isn’t Al Sadr a smoking hole in the ground? When we play policeman, we lose—when we use force we win.

this is what happens when you go to war to “win hearts and minds”. Go to war to win. Let the missionaries win their hearts and minds and stop forcing our military to “respect” a religion that kills its own.

Yet the blood of the martyrs is precious in the eyes of the Lord. Christian blood will eventually prove more powerful against fundamentalist Islam than all the American ordinance.

Indeed Saddam had his thugs clamp down rather harshly on unsanctioned thuggery. Saddam got edgy whenever someone was tortured or killed and he did not give the order for it. Of course the “sanctioned” thuggery more than made up for it.

As to the Christians being safer I have no idea, if you have any sources on that please let me know I am always up for some instructional reading.

As to the war not working out right... I have to admit that things have gone south. Something for which I place the majority of the burden of blame on the main stream media. Without the MSM support the terrorists would be having a much harder time.

This is why when we liberated Iraq and Afghanistan I said that our main demand for doing so should be that their new constitutions must contain all the same protections for God-given, unalienable rights that ours contains.

We wrote the new constitution for Japan after WWII. Too bad PC now dictates instead of wisdom.

So they need to be brought here for refuge ... and that needs to be organized STAT by.... the WHITE HOUSE.

More lies and distortion from the evil Catholic church.

Our Great Leader, President Bush, insists that Islam is “the religion of peace”. Not only that, but by going to Iraq, we have transformed that great nation into a flourishing democracy that will be a model for all over countries in the middle east. The people in all of these other countries will rise up and overthrow their dictators, be they militaristic or religious, and also embrace western style democracy. They will cease to hate or want to murder Christians, Jews, converts from Islam, insulters of Islam, cartoonists, homosexuals, or adulterers.

Those of you who disagree with me and our great president are bigots and traitors. You obviously do not want what’s right for our country. Shame on you all! /s

Aren’t we going to defend freedom of religion?

Surprisingly, under Saddam Hussein, Iraqi Christians were allowed to openly and freely practice their faith. He held the Sunnei and other Moslems, at bay. Now that he is dead, the Moslem parties have taken control and are forcibly eliminating the "infidels". A while back, another freeper posted the following to the forum. I saved it for moments such as this.

The following is a description (slightly modified) from Dr. Peter Hammond's book: Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat. www.frontline.org.za/books_videos/sti.htm

As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness.

At 2% and 3% they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs [Europe, Australia, USA and Japan]. Six percent of US prison inmates are Muslim. Like any other minority, they won’t integrate, but work to build their own separate community.

From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. South Africa's Muslim population is 2%, but they control 35% of the businesses, a large percentage of the banks and have five Cabinet seats while Christians (77% of the population) have none.

They will push for the introduction of halaal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves (along with threats for failure to comply).

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia; Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world, but to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims reach 10% of the population, they will increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. (Ei: car-burnings in France last October.) Any non-Muslim action that offends Islam will result in uprisings and threats.

After reaching 20% expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burning (India, Mindanao, Philippines).

At 40% you will find widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare [Indonesia].

From 60% you may expect unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya (infidel tax). (Sudan, Kosovo, Lebanon and Egypt).

After 80% expect State run ethnic cleansing and genocide [Western Papua (New Guinea), Iran, Biafra, Turkey and North Nigeria].

100% will usher in the peace of "Dar-es-Salaam" - House of Peace - as in Saudi Arabia, Libya and Yemen.

And, lest there be any doubt as to how this will play out in the US, take a look at Hamtranck, MI, where the Muslim population is now pushing for the introduction of halaal (clean by Islamic standards) food, or Canada, they are working to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia; Islamic Law.

Santayana said it best:

Those who do not learn from history are forced to repeat it.

We may still be several generations away from this in the US but take a look at the growth of the Muslim population in Europe. We're next! And they will close down your churches, as well.

Saddam was originally a pragmatist and secularist dictator; however, towards the end of his run, he “discovered” Islam for his own personal benefit and was cultivating and supporting Islamists.

As for the US, I fear we are all in for a truly bad run. Nobody, including our President, seems to be paying any attention, and I think Christians are going to be under major Muslim attack probably within the next few years. The leftists are only softening up the approach and making Christians the enemy, which means that in the mind of non-church-going, TV-watching Middle America, Christians are evil.

Normally, Muslims have to hit nearly 10% of the population to have a major impact, but I think in the case of the US, it’s going to be a much lower figure. This is because Islam has the support of the left and the press, as well as that of many in our government.
