Left Wants to Amputate Surgeon General Nominee
Townhall.com ^ | June 8, 2007 | Matt Barber

The Human Rights Campaign, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and a host of other radical homosexual activist and leftist organizations are decrying President Bush’s Surgeon General Nominee, Dr. James Holsinger.

Dr. Holsinger, a conservative Methodist, has masters degrees from Asbury Theological Seminary and the University of South Carolina and earned his medical degree from Duke University. Dr. Holsinger previously served as Kentucky’s health secretary and was chancellor of the University of Kentucky’s medical center.

By all accounts, Dr. Holsinger is widely respected by his peers in the medical, academic and state government communities. But, nonetheless, Dr. Holsinger has come under tremendous fire from liberal activists for having the courage to address the compelling medical evidence and multiple studies which underscore the reality that homosexuals can escape the homosexual lifestyle and realign themselves to a biologically and spiritually natural heterosexual “orientation.” The irrefutable reality that thousands of former homosexuals have chosen to leave the “gay” lifestyle they once chose to enter only serves to further bolster – if not prove entirely – Dr. Holsinger’s advised medical assessment.

Much of the controversy revolves around a comprehensive compilation of medical studies Dr. Holsinger distilled titled, “The Pathophysiology of Male Homosexuality.” In the study, Dr Holsinger placed scientific substance over political correctness by unapologetically demonstrating the seemingly self evident reality that, from a medical standpoint, homosexual behaviors, such as male-on-male sodomy, are “unnatural” and “unhealthy” and run entirely counter to natural human biological design.

Wrote, Holsinger, “… From the perspective of pathology and pathophysiology, the varied sexual practices of homosexual men have resulted in a diverse and expanded concept of sexually transmitted disease and associated trauma.

“It is absolutely clear that anatomically and physiologically the alimentary (digestive) and reproductive systems in humans are separate organ systems. … Even primitive cultures understand the nature of waste elimination, sexual intercourse and the birth of children. Indeed our own children appear to ‘intuitively’ understand these facts.”

But facts and logic have a way of running counter to the left’s agenda, so we shouldn’t be at all surprised that there is such a liberal gnashing of teeth over Dr. Holsinger’s nomination. He’s clearly struck a chord on the issue of homosexual behavior and the homosexual lifestyle, and that chord rings sour with those who don’t want to hear it.

However, to their bitter discord, that chord does ring true. And when the light of truth, science and reality is shined upon the fantasy world of political correctness in which the left collectively resides, then they quickly scurry for the shadows of self-delusion and send out their most raucous and militant to dampen anything or anyone who might provide illumination.

Oh my, discrimination at it’s finest. We should be able to hear the other side, left. Isn’t that what America is about? Not just one side. Where’s the ACLU? Where’s the discriminatory police.

Hey, out there? Where is everybody?

These are the same people who, a few years ago, were “only looking to be able to live their own lives without being forced to live in closets”. Apply this to the current situation with the mexicans and be forewarned.

Chit can the entire office of surgeon general and mothball the silly uniform. It’s just another little bureaucratic empire we would be well rid of.

My Mama used to dismiss the opinions of people who “didn’t know the difference between their a$$ and a hole in the ground”.

I think she’d feel vindicated by Dr Holsinger’s medical findings.. :-)

I always remember a comment the VP used in a speech about drilling in Alaska.

He stated when he was with Haliburton his helicopter had to circle the airport a few times because the Polar Bears were on the runway therefore in his opinion they very quickly adapt to industrial surrounding.

People should be free to do whatever they want. It is unfortunate that people have had to invent this fiction that homosexual is a biological compulsion in order to justify simple human freedom.

If two people want to do whatever they want to each other, have at it, I say. Just try to keep it indoors or you’ll frighten the horses. But let’s leave all the silly nonsense about genetically programmed sexual orientation to the side, OK?

Free advice to the President: emphasize his academic credentials and respect in medical community. I don’t care if he has a good heart and loves God etc. Don’t go the Harriet Miers route.

I hope I’ll be surprised and that Bush will fight for this candidate, but I suspect someone didn’t do all their homework when they suggested that he was an excellent candidate. He is an excellent candidate, but they might have missed the likelihood of homosexual objections.

With Bush abandoning his people left and right, I sure hope he follows through on this one, after apparently refusing to stick with General Pace for similar reasons. Will he realize that the Dems make fools of themselves when they attack somebody on this basis? Does the gay lobby really want to have a public argument about the healthfulness of their sexual practices?

Good advice, although actually it’s really questionable that Harriet Miers was a super Evangelical. Most of the Evangelical leaders were disillusioned when they looked into her record. Based only one what is said here, it looks as if this guy may be the real article.

Bush lost the Miers fight not because he pulled the Evangelical card, but because she wasn’t what they said she was, and because she was plainly not qualified. That’s not the case here, at least no evidence of it.

That's it in a nutshell. Just because the Surgeon General doesn't accept the homosexual lifestyle and realizes that people can get out, does not disqualify him to be the surgeon general. It's not like he is going to walk into their bedrooms or stop them from engaging in sexual behavior. It seems they just can't stand the fact that some people may be opposed to their lifestyle, and they want to limit the free speech of those who are. They would be hysterical if "intolerant" Christians opposed a homosexual being appointed to Surgeon General, but they have a double standard.
