Hello All, I am posting this in the hopes that some one can point me in the right direction to retrieve a thread I read YEARS ago here. It is a very detailed account of the National Emergency FDR declared during the Depression. I have tried searching, to no avail.

I have a 'newbie' I am trying to show what FR can be about. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Now that Calpernia has answered your question (in record time, though not out of norm, from what I've seen of Calpernia's work) may I suggest that you also look for the live thread on the Shuttle Columbia tragedy and the all time classic, IMHO, the Burkhead / Rathergate thread.    I think both show some of the best aspects of this site. This is the first place I come for when there's something live happening. A lot of us got hooked here after the incredible coverage on 9/11, for example.

I'll leave it to others (or you) to do the searching. I'm about to pack up and leave my temporary perch in a restaurant at SeaWorld and go see Shamu!
