Glad you had a great time AB and thanks once again for posting the thread. Too bad we don't have a Southern FR conference once a year, would be super wild.

By the way some pundits are giving the New Media, namely talk radio credit for killing the immigration bill. If that's true and I believe it is,it makes what we do here all the more important as we often give news tips, leads, or at the very least different takes on existing stories to those on talk radio as well as others.

Yesterday I listened to an old tape of Rush Limbaugh addressing the National Association of Broadcasters in 2003, which occurred just after the Donovan McNab kerfuffle, after the revelation of his addiction, and before he went to rehab.

It was a powerful speech, telling his audience the power of talk radio, and that power was proved last week. Back room deals in Congress will never be the same.

Every one of the scheduled guests is for open borders and a supporter of the traitorous amnesty bill.

This is the sort of ad homin attack that the Ultras scream day in and day out that keeps most people from supporting their position on Immigration Reform.

Screaming bile at everyone who has a different opinion on Immigration may make the Antis feel good, it will not win you any votes.

Oh but that right, it ok for the Antis to do nothing but scream hate at everyone, but God forbid anyone turn their rhetoric back on them! NOW we will get the usually collection of outrage and pouting responses because someone turned their usual tactics back on them!

While crowing about your victory, you all may want to keep in mind you accomplished it only with a Filibuster. You could not get a Majority in the Senate to support your position on Immigration.

You are going to need some of the political middle on your side to win. Those are the people this sort of mindless snarling drives away from your side.

Just stopping the other side doesn't win you anything. It has merely maintained the status quo. The illegal are still going to be pouring into their country now. So they are the only ones who won anything here.

But I know. Don't bother with the facts. The 100%ers have a dogma and dogma these days trumps all!

You make an excellent point MNJ,we are between a rock and a hard place. But it's difficult for many of us to figure out how major portions of the congress can go against the will of the people on this issue.

Estimates are as high as 75-80% of the populace want the border secured and before any amnesty is even discussed. How can the congress critters just go in the opposite direction. I really don't get it at all.
