Bush said a proposal floated at last week's Group of Eight summit in Germany by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who suggested a six-month delay to try to ease Russian objections to independence, would work only if statehood was the ultimate objective.

I think Clinton was wrong to get involved in Kosovo in the first place and I think Bush is now compounding that error.

Waitaminute....didn’t we explicitly agree in the UN resolution before the attack on Serbia that Kosovo was an integral part of Serbia?

But, yesterday Serbian PM and Putin met:

“Russia “pleased” it foiled Kosovo independence at G8”

ST PETERSBURG, Russia, June 9 (Reuters) - Russia, which blocked Kosovo’s bid for independence from Serbia, assured Serbia on Saturday of its continued support, saying it was pleased other G8 nations were taking its arguments seriously.

In a public setback for Western leaders who back Kosovo’s bid for independence and who are pushing for action this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin refused on Friday to back down from his insistence there can be no resolution of the province’s status without the agreement of Serbia.

Putin said after a G8 summit of the world’s major industrialised nations on Friday that undermining Serbia’s sovereignty “does not correspond to moral or legal norms”.

Nothing like just giving away a chunk of someone else’s country. Especially as Kosovo was the heart of old Serbia, with so many of its ancient monasteries located there. Of course, the ethnic cleansing Kosovo Muslims have destroyed most of those churches and monasteries. How would Bush like it if the Serb’s made arrangements w/a few other countries, to give Texas to Mexico.

Just another reason in a long list of them that my dislike of Bush grows hour by hour. What a disappointment he is, and I’m afraid he was secretly a RINO from the very beginning. He just pulled the wool over our collective eyes verbally. I hope we don’t make a similar mistake with our next choice, that is if a Pub even wins the Presidency next time.

Agreed. We need to stop worrying about other countries, let them work out their own problems, and lets work on ours.

Im not spreading anti-Bush sentiment, but with this, WOT is dead.
It like Roosevelt going to Berlin and giving full support to Hitler to annex Europe and asking his help to overthrow Mussolini...
What would WWII look like than?

"Waitaminute....didn’t we explicitly agree in the UN resolution before the attack on Serbia that Kosovo was an integral part of Serbia?"

Yes!!!!! And when we ran into opposition for "Kosovo Independence", we tried to "backdoor it" by trying to repeal UN Resolution 1244 -- the one we used to get involved in this in the first place -- explicitly because it states that "Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia".

As one law professor pointed out, the only way that we could force Kosovo Independence, is to assume that "we (NATO) conquored Serbia & took Kosovo" and if that is the case, it is NATO that belongs in the Hague for war crimes!

US President Bush: "Time Is Now" For Kosovo Independence

No, "THE TIME IS NOW to TELL President Bush NO KOSOVO INDEPENDENCE":

The sovereignty we save now, may ultimately be our own!

Why not? Bush is fixing to give away a chunk of our country to Mexican interests. Read up on Aztlan. Read it and weep. Read it and weep for America as we know it.

“Waitaminute....didn’t we explicitly agree in the UN resolution before the attack on Serbia that Kosovo was an integral part of Serbia?”

Indeed. I can remember President Clinton making assurances that we were simply trying to stop genocide, and that we would would NOT support independence for Kosovo.

Bingo!

Here is a map of the churches, monasteries and hermitages in Kosovo Metohija ("Metohija" translation= "Land of the Monasteries")

Last count, over 130 of these churches & monasteries have been destroyed by Muslim Albanians!

Below, a few of more than 250,000 Serbs and non-Albanians who were forced to flee Kosovo as a result of our "humanitarian intervention"

Makes me sick to my stomach -- and now we want to make this ethnic cleansing of Serb Christians and other non-Albanians, permanent? Sick!

This horrific error will only gain the support of Dhimmis like mark and Hoppy.

Mr. Bush and the panty waisted dons of the State Department want to give away Serbian land, full of Orthodox churches and monasteries to Moslem fanatics bankrolled by the Saudis. What is the US national interest in all of this? Mr. Bush should have stayed awake in his history classes. The man has been a disaster as president.

George Soros was the mastermind of the strife in Kosovo and the campaign to demonize the Christians there to convince the US to ally with the jihadis. You can see by reading the Congressional Record that it was when Milosevic started going after Soros that the calls for war began. We had an entire war on this guy’s behalf.

Soros is now financing the invasion of the US. Funding pro amnesty phone lines to senators was his doing. Expect the same outcome as his campaign against the Serbs.

Bush is allied with Soros on both of these intrinsically linked issues.

He was not secretly a RINO, he’s actually been quite open on the issue, without calling himself that. What do you think he meant by compassionate conservatism? I never liked that term because it implies that “regular” conservatives are not compassionate - a regular accusation we hear often from moderates and the left.

The fact is, Kosovo’s Independance is the worst possible thing for Albania.

Albania is pretty much free of extremist Islamic elements. This is not the case in Kosovo, and if Kosovo is granted independence, those Islamic elements are going to want to control all of “Greater Albania.”

And if there is a civil war in Albania, it will make the breakup of Yugoslavia look like a walk in the park.
