Lieberman: Bomb Iran If It Doesn't Stop
cbs ^ | 6/10/07

(CBS) The United States should launch military strikes against Iran if the government in Tehran does not stop supplying anti-American forces in Iraq, Sen. Joe Lieberman said Sunday on Face The Nation.

"I think we've got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq," Lieberman told Bob Schieffer. "And to me, that would include a strike into... over the border into Iran, where we have good evidence that they have a base at which they are training these people coming back into Iraq to kill our soldiers."

The Indepedent former Democrat from Connecticut said that he was not calling for an invasion of Iran, but he did say the U.S. should target specific training camps

Ow. That's gonna get him kicked out of the Democrat party.

Supporting partial-birth abortions with public funds may be important, but no Democrat can countenance making the Jew-hating religious fanatics in Teheran feel threatened (after all, they're not Southern Baptists!).

Joe is an independant now. They kicked him out of the party when he ran last year. He has no one to be afraid of, and he is older and near retirement anyways. Joe is free to tell it like it is. :)

As I understand it, he still considers himself a Democrat and continues to caucus with them. And so far as I know, apart from the WOT he's still an across the board liberal.

But then, anything makes the DUmmies, the Moore-heads, and the Sorosians furious is fine with me!

Joe Lieberman and ex-Mayor Ed Koch are similar as Dems on social issues however they both are strongly in favor of national defense and defeating the forces of terrorism.
Both are jewish and protective of Israel as a sovreign nation. Bombing Iran is necessary to strike the cancer at it’s roots.

The thing I have against Joe is..he could’ve saved
the Senate from Dingy Harry and Schumer, etc. by joining
the Republican party..probably every R in Connecticut
put him over the hump....He’s a feisty little bomber
with our bombs....like you say..he’s on the down slope,
so why not pay back to the hypoctrits who abandoned
him..Like..Dodd,his fellow Senator...and the rest of
the eastern chicksh...ts.

they should be free to tell it like it is whether they are brand new or ready for retirement. That’s the disgusting part...they don’t.

Joe has it about right. The persians have a long and proud history that has been hijacked by nazis. They aren’t dummies like so many camel jockeys in countries around them. Just the other day, read a well written, highly technical article by an iranian hydraulics engineer in re to sonofusion in collapsing bubbles on trailing edges of turbine blades, the pitting and scarring thereof. He lives in tehran just as the nutjob does.

This shows me that iranian intellectuals are much the same as jewish intellectuals, a candle of learning surrounded by darkness. Thus don’t paint all iranians with the terrorist brush, they don’t deserve it. They want BUTTER, the nutjobs want GUNS.

Thus we made a BIG mistake taking out saddam in 3 weeks, 5 years ago. Better to have nibbled off a bit of turf and let all the bad guys sort themselves out from the good guys by dying in your front line meatgrinder. Think of how MUCH pain and suffering that would have saved in iraq, now a quagmire of who’s a terrorist and who isn’t...

Thank you Joe for choosing country over party! Maybe our party should have a clue on this as well, on a whole lot of issues.

“they should be free to tell it like it is...”

So should we all. But do we? How many of us censor our true thoughts, or weigh political considerations, before we speak? Or hide behind internet pseudonyms when speaking out?

Freedom of speech is an American tradition, now threatened by “speech codes” and “political correctness.” All of us must “tell it like it is”, else our traditions and birthrights slowly disintegrate.

That’s one of the few benefits about being an independent.

Althought it would be nice to hear McCain sing:

Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran....

again to distract him from his amnesty scheme.

“I think we’ve got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq,”

The reason he is giving for action against Iran is because they are killing Americans in Iraq, providing arms and training others to kill Americans in Iraq.

If North Korea started to attack and kill Americans in South Korea you mean? Yea, he probably would.

Every day that we wait, means that WW III, will be meaner, and longer, than if we had attacked the day before we do - or that they do...

Joe Lieberman makes me feel so conflicted. How can a guy who is such a Commie on so many things be so right about this one important issue? What am I missing here?
