You have only the word of a corrupt mayor concerning the way ICE did the raids.
What makes you think the mayor is telling the truth and ICE is operating outside of legal process and authority?

My comments were in response to other posters asinine suggestions not so much the story itself.

We have bilateral and multilatral treaties that protect foreign nationals on our soil.
Every now and then you'll hear of such and so country signing a treaty of amity and commerce with some other country. Such treaties usually mean each country will no longer summarily rob, execute and toss into the crick citizens of the other country.
However, none of these treaties give foreign nationals rights superior to citizens.

Make sure your comments are comprehensive. Else, your fundamental thesis may become compromised.

Then answer the question in #3, sparky:
What rights are those? Are they delineated in the constitution?

Read in context, they make sense to me, but then I did write them.

Nor even equal to the rights of the citizenz (no voting rights for example). That is a long way from claiming that illegal aliens have no rights as many here are. The U.S. legal system has long accepted that aliens, even illegal one have among other rights, a right to a trial and equal protection under the law.

Alexander will I'm sure.
I've got a problem with the FED moving in without States knowledge or support. I do not want this issue to completely transcend States Rights. This smacks of Washington trumping everyone.

All for show until this new bill is passed and then everyone is legal. Then Mr Chadbourne will become a recruiter of illegals helping them get their Z visas.

Please show me in the constitution and Bill of Rights where they are limited only to citizens. No emanations please.

I’ve never claimed to be a Constitutional scholar, but since you seem to fancy yourself as quite the scholar, how about showing me where it says that constitutional rights apply to illegal aliens?

The agent in charge says everything was done properly, including notification. The rat mayor says otherwise. I believe the agent.

OK...., But I hope you understand my concern. States are in-charge of how this is handled now. The FED has failed as far as the interior (and obviously the border) is concerned. I’m in a land-locked state, and want the illegal issue handled in-step with the FED, but not giving up jurisdiction. JMHO

Isn’t New Haven mobbed up?

I'm not a scholar, but I did bother to read the document.
The verbiage is generally inclusive such as the 5th which refers to "No person" and the 6th which refers to "the accused" and the 3rd which refers to "the Owner". These terms do no exclude anyone.
Others such as the 15th refer to "[the] right of citizens of the United States" and is clearly an exclusive term that would not apply to aliens legal or illegal.
The 2nd, 4th, 9th and 10th refer to "the people" and are arguably citizen specific.
In the case of the 4th (search and seizure), which refers to "the people", even if that is a citizen specific right, the only way to for the govenment to ensure it for citizen is to extend it to all. Otherwise citizens would be in a position to have to prove their innocence (citizenship).

Enforcement of immigration law is a federal duty, or so they claim when it’s at their convenience to look the other way. New Haven officials either need to enforce the law or butt the hell out.

I've got a problem with municipal and state officials harping "immigration is a federal matter" as an excuse to not cooperate with USCIS or to interfere in enforcement duties.
Support? Chadbourne, field office director for ICE said proper notification was given officials, they are most likely the ones who chose to sit out the operation - then complain about it.
