McCain: Enemy of the POWs
NewsMax.com ^ | Tuesday, June 12, 2007 | John LeBoutillier

. . . Everyone in D.C. and Arizona knows of the mean-spirited side of John McCain. But on no issue has John McCain been meaner than the question of the hundreds of U.S. POWs who did not come home in 1973 when McCain came home.

He has used his unique and hard-earned status as a former POW not to help the cause of the un-returned POWs, but rather to attack POW activists, demean POW family members, and to bolster the Pentagon's long-term strategy of debunking credible sightings of POWs.

TOPICS: Editorial; Front Page News; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: anyonebutmccain; mccain; mccainunfit; mccainvets; nowaymccain; pows; rinomccain; vietnam; war
For example, the soon-to-be-famous satellite photograph on the cover of "An Enormous Crime" is a 1988 image of a USA K — known as a "walking K" because it has "feet" on the bottom of the letters. This is an escape and evade (E&E) code given to U.S. airmen before their missions.

The one on the cover of the book was placed by a U.S. airmen still held against his will 15 years after the end of the Vietnam War and the return of McCain and the other now-famous U.S. POWs.

The symbol measures 37 feet across and each of the letters is 12 feet high.

The Walking K part is a secret; no one could or would know its significance other than the U.S. airman who was given this unique code before his mission.

This code translates to: "I am alive! Come and get me out of here!"

When this evidence was made public John McCain did not ride to his former comrade's rescue.

Instead, he sided with the Defense Intelligence Agency's debunking team, whose role is to discredit every report, sighting, satellite image and radio intercept. Clearly they have an agenda: prove that no POWs are still held alive over there. (To admit otherwise places the U.S. government in a massive hostage crisis — and exposes countless now-famous officials as having knowingly abandoned these POWs.)

And do you know how McCain explained this rescue symbol visible from space in a rice paddy in Laos?

He claimed it was created by a 6-year old Laotian boy who was copying an American postage stamp!

It is in his memoir, "Worth The Fighting For."

These questions remian unanswered by McCain:

How did a 6-year old Lao boy know of the secret walking K code?

How could a 6-year old boy possibly write a well-written — in English — "USA" 37 feet wide and 12 feet high?

Why would he do it?

How could he possibly know that an American satellite would fly overhead and photograph it? All of these questions point to the most sinister part of the POW issue: the U.S. government has known all along that our POWs are still there — and still sending E&E signals. (There are sightings of other E&E codes through the years, all the way up to 1992. You can see some of them on www.enormouscrime.com.) And the Pentagon is still receiving, and hiding from the public, credible live-sighting reports of our POWs still held against their will in both Vietnam and Laos.

John McCain — the most famous former POW — has provided cover for this nefarious behavior by the Pentagon and the Defense Intelligence Agency.

He has used his former POW status to defend the Pentagon and to attack those of us who claim something rotten is going on inside D.C. And he fits this role to a T: his attack-dog style mows down anyone in his path including mothers, wives, and the children of our still-missing, POWs...

After watching McCain and Bush on the amnesty bill, I find myself wondering just how corrupt our government might really be, both sides of the aisle. Nah...couldn’t be, right? I know, I know...don’t bother saying it. I’ll go put my aluminum foil ski mask on now.

I’ll admit to having a LONG term visceral “dislike” for McCain....

The incident that CONVINCED me I was correct about the lying, self serving bastard — was the day McCain went public to support Kerry against the charges being made by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth..

McCain DEFENDED Kerry, and ATTACKED the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth..

That act - together with his history and acts since that day, gave me an unshakable confidence that McCain is worthless and possibly traitorous sonuvabitch...

This is a lie. And it is the usual output from John LeBoutillier, an ass if there ever were one.

McCain’s military service, and particularly the time (5 1/2 years) he was imprisoned (and tortured) in the Hanoi Hilton during the Vietnam War are worthy of the highest respect.

McCain was offered early repatriation by the North Vietnamese, but declined in lieu OF HIS FELLOW AMERICAN PRISONERS NOT BEING RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME - and indeed remained a prisoner there until all prisoners were released.

You and I share giving up on “Gregory Greenass” as his CO is reported to have called him. When McCain supported that lying POS traitor kerry over the swifties...that did it for me, because I know the Swifties were telling the truth....and kerry was lying...well of course he was lying..his lips were moving.

I agree completely concerning his behavior during the war. I have the opposite feelings about the Senate actions he took with John Kerry to normalize relations with Vietnam, which actions included destroying many (most? all?) files concerning MIA's so that the two countries could get along better or some such garbage. Kerry got huge contracts for a relative. What did McCain get? I don't know but would like to.

“The Controversy ... Hero or Traitor ... What do you think?

On one side, we have McCain’s supporters with their version of key events in the Senators life. On the other side, we have the “NO” McCain camp, naturally with a radically different version of the events. Who is telling the truth? (Or more probably, who is telling the most truth) Well, you may already have firm beliefs (”he’s a true hero” or “he’s a damn traitor”), and you won’t be swayed, no matter what you see or hear. Or you may want to become better informed so you can make that decision. To that end, we hope you can find enough information here to either, reaffirm your choice, or help you decide.”

I am not familiar with any destruction of MIA files caused by McCain. Perhaps you can provide the info on this, including your sources.

I do know that McCain went, with Kerry, to Vietnam after the war to open up U.S. contacts with the Vietnam government - and specifically to enable acquisition of information on American MIA’s.

This was followed-up by forensic teams going to Vietnam, which still continue as needed. All this contributed to the accounting for of thousands of MIA’s.

McCain and Kerry were chosen for the opening of relations because they were both well-known Vietnam vets. McCain was a genuine hero for his service but, as we know, Kerry was an utterly false hero and actual traitor - but who still was chosen to be the Democrat’s representative.

As we also know, Kerry apparently used these contacts for some sort of financial deal and gain for a member, or members, of his family (a brother?).

McCain has indeed been in trouble for occasionally referring to the N. Vietnamese as “gooks” - something he has said he has had a hard time removing from his psyche after the torture he suffered at their hands.

McCain may surely be criticized, or condemned, for certain political action as a Senator; but I have seen nothing - other than blatant distortions of his military record - to substantiate that he has been anything less than outstanding in his loyalty to the military and to the nation in defense-related matters.

To: Anita1; Freee-dame; presently no screen name; sgtbono2002; HuntsvilleTxVeteran; river rat; ...

A number of you referred me to websites that you indicated would support the invective thrown by you and others against Sen. McCain - particularly in regard to his military service and his experience of 5 1/2 years as a POW in the Hanoi Hilton.

I thank you profusely for these links, because they so well reveal the source of your “information.”

The source for all the sites boils down to one individual: Ted Samply. For many of us, particularly vets, that says it all.

Samply is the person who, single-handledly, almost destroyed the Swifties magnificent campaign against John Kerry.

Samply’s notoriety as a fabricator, outright liar, and destroyer of good people - particularly veterans - was used by the Kerry people in an attempt to label all attacks against Kerry’s shameful record - particularly by the Swifties - as all coming from persons like Samply.

References to Samply - and his venomous slander aginst McCain, and in effect against so many other veterans with meritorious service and great sacrifice through years of torturous imprisonment - are not all difficult to locate on the internet.

Here is one site. http://www.miafacts.org/ Read the whole site - it is a good one - but, in any case, scroll down to the McCain section indicated by the date: August 21, 2004. And proceed therein...

Thank you for your dedication to truth.

"The source for all the sites boils down to one individual: Ted Samply. For many of us, particularly vets, that says it all."

If you have researched a number of sites - and found the ONLY or PRIMARY source of input was from an individual you elect to ignore ---- then you should list those reviewed sites , pointing out their only link to "facts" was Ted Samply.

Since you've already done the researsh this shouldn't be too much to ask..

I have recollection of seeing quotes from his fellow prisoner and his POW Senior Officer which cast some doubt on the "official" history of the period..

Personally, most of my disdain for McCain is based on his track record after becoming a politician....and many unanswered suspicions about his performance as a POW. As a veteran myself, who witnessed the unbelievable cruelty the Communists routinely dealt out to their enemies -- I cast no insults upon any behavior while under the torture I'm aware must have been utilized.... yet much of the story just doesn't add up for me.

NONE of McCain's post Vietnam record is presented or invalidated by sourcing through Ted Samply..

The most AGREGIOUS slander of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, wasn't fashioned by any statement or action by Ted Samply -- it was from McCain's own recorded statement when he himself attacked the veracity of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and "stood by his lying, traitorous, fraud of a "hero".....Kerry.

For me -- hearing McCain's attack of the Swiftees, coupled with his criminally negligent performance with KERRY during the Senate cover up of Communist Vietnam's LYING report on the status of MIA/POW -- especially for those names KNOWN to have been POWs and NOT released or accounted for in a believable manner...

I don't speak for vets - and unless you've been elected to some representative office, you shouldn't speak for anyone but yourself... Because when you posted that "For many of us, particularly vets, that says it all"... That is not true for me - nor is it true for most of my surviving brothers...

Unfortunately, there are/were no known American witnesses to McCain's time spent away from his fellow prisoners, so we have only McCain's input on that time... McCain's veracity is not cast in gold...
A number of things fueled concern...
No other POW of that period received the care that McCain received.
No other POW of that period shows the "affection" and "protection" that McCain has shown his former "captors" and enemy.
No other POW of that period desplayed the same rudeness toward the families of POW/MIA who were opposed to accepting the white wash that Kerry and McCain presented at the conclusion of their Senate hearings....

This is the SAME McCain that greeted his former enemy and captor with warmth and open arms!

What is it about McCain's history as a POW, that would motivate him to behave so inappropriately?

I, and a number of my brothers suspect a great deal... Personally, I suspect there are tapes or photos that McCain can not afford to have released under any circumstances.....

When you posted that "all sites of information", you focused on his time as a POW -- a time and place where there are no American witnesses to what took place the times McCain was removed from the cells his fellow prisoners were confined to -- to receive treatment at a level they were denied..

Ted Samply played no role in: Keating Five Savings and Loan corruption and bribery scandal.. McCain/Feingold attempt to suppress the 1st Amendment rights of the electorate before an election.... The McCain RINO caucus who attempted to deny the President's agenda.. McCain's role, with other RINOs in his attempt to railroad the nation into another disastrous amnesty for illegal aliens....

Folks could ignore whatever happened while McCain was a POW - and STILL have more than enough to gag themselves on rather that cast another vote for the bastard.

I would like to add another comment - regarding the veracity of the Communist claims about POWs and MIAs...

In I Corps, there was an instance where we found the brutalized and literally butchered remains of a Marine from a neighboring Battalion off to our West..

This was NOT a Marine killed in a fire fight, ambush or direct engagement with the enemy..
This Marine, who by one means or another - fell into the hands of the Communists...

We call that a POW — once a Marine had been captured, disarmed and constrained — they officially achieved POW status.. They would also have been identified by their unit as MIA — since their fate was at that time unknown.

Then - to later find that Marine bound and tied to the base of a tree with his own entrails slipping out onto his lap
before his own eyes......was an act of cruelty, murder and a violation of the Geneva Conventions..

Similar instances occurred in other AOA....

Yet — NONE of the known slaughtered captive’s names ever appeared on the Communist list of POWs —— NONE... Even though we KNEW and could PROVE they had been captured alive, constrained and murdered...

These are the SAME sonsuvbitches that McCain greeted and treated like his long lost brothers -— while at the same time IGNORING the pleas of POW/MIA families for MORE PRESSURE on the Communists for MORE COMPLETE AND TRUTHFUL information from the bastards before we allow KMart and Pennys to enrich the bastards..

Do I still carry a grudge....you can bet your ass I do.
Will I get over it.......not unless someone can turn the names on that cold black wall on the Mall back into the warrior brothers I once knew and loved....
