Well said.
Moonves and Rather sniping at each other is a-a-a-almost as good as hamas and fatah cutting each others throats.
saying it was imperative to reach younger audiences. Evening news broadcasts couldn’t continue to have audiences that are mainly over 60, Moonves said, otherwise “the evening news will die

Why doesnt he fire Katie and get Paris Hilton to read the news. (I think Paris can read, but I wouldnt bet on it)
Anyway she is better looking and not near as silly. Katie isnt a journalist anyway, just a news reader. Most anyone with the same plumbing as Katie could do as well. probably better. It isnt a tough job, Baba Wawa does it with a lisp.
I would turn the boat around and run them both over!
It an IOP fest... Idiots on Parade. Moonves, Rather and Kaplan are the among the worst of the liberal hacks in that they actually believe their own press releases of grandeur pomp and circumstance.
Thanks goodness the success of real American businesses arn’t dependent upon such TV clowns. They are to the future of news media what two tin cups and a string are to telecommunications.
Good point. After all, all of CBS's shows are given at least a full year or two to get their kinks worked out before the network thinks about trying something different. It's the sort of slow-paced, forgiving, Mayberryish family atmosphere you'd expect in network television.
I said it on another thread and I’m going to say it here. I think it’s really cute that Dan Rather thinks he is a serious journalist who is entitled to criticize other news folks. In reality, he is a DNC hack and always has been. So flame on Danny boy.
It’s so cute when swine defecate on each other - I hope this goes on for weeks.
Leslie Moonves “doesn’t know about news.”
And Rather does?
The MSM shocker for me in this article is Scarborough has another show this time using his middle name. The only thing left for this boy is another show using his first name which Charles. I recommend a noon show, and they should call it UpChuck because that is a MSNBC theme.
"I never played up such things as celebrities over news coverage, unless of course it was someone important like me with my good bud Fidel. Ah, them were the days ... "
Colonic Katy has destroyed the CBS evening news....
What was left of it after Phoney Doc Dan got through with it.
If Les Moonves and Dan Rather fell off the stern of a boat and were both drowning, and you could save them or take a pulitzer prize winning photograph of the both of them drowning, what shutter speed would you use?
Rather may have been right about “dumbing down” the news.
His “tarting up” comment WAS sexist. Guilty as charged.
Rather has no business telling anyone what they do or do not “know” about the news.
In Rather’s corner...ratings went up as he stubbornly refused to acknowledge the obvious - it made for fascinating TV.
to his detriment - he is a laughing stock.
In Katie’s corner - she hasn’t knowingly tried to push a falsified story as real in an effort to smear someone’s reputation.
To her detriment...she is boring.
I think even if she self-destructed in a Rather-similar fashion...would people tune in to watch? I don’t think so.
The bad news for Leslie Moonvas is that things can be both sexist and true. A real newsman knows that...
Then again, Dan Rather, a man who "made-up and dumbed down" news, is in no position to be critical of the "tart". Opps, I mean the highly esteemed totally credible, feminist, strong, liberated female journalist. Kidding. Katie is a professional (the "tart" comment being a slap at Rather) - but the world's not quite ready for her on the evening news - hence the ratings.
She'd be great with a male co-anchor - CBS should give it a try.
ROTFLMAO
