Quite an interesting page at NumbersUSA.com regarding Proposed Immigration Bills. Numerous subjects are there from Annesdt, Border Control, Chain Migration, etc.  Both sides are looked at , reducing and decreasing. It includes mainly House Bills but Senate bills are also listed.

Listening to Neal Boortz now. He will be interviewing Secretary Chertoff, SECHLS, during the next hour. It was interesting in that Neal said the 2006 Fence Bill authorized 700 miles, however HLS will build only 370 miles. Where's the rest of the money going, mybe he'll tell us.

kinda makes me wonder if the current broohaha over the amnesty bill is actually to distract attention away from some of these small bills....perhaps the smaller bills are more damaging than the amnesty bill?????

Common Sense ‘ENFORCE ACT’ introduced By Sen. Inhofe

Major Provisions in Inhofe’s ENFORCE Act:

· Establishes the National Border Neighborhood Watch (NBNW) Program allowing retired law enforcement officers to assist Border Patrol agents by reporting illegal border crossings.

· Makes unlawful-presence in the United States a felony.

· Establishes an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

· Authorizes funding for online immigration training for state and local law enforcement officers.

· **** Eliminates the practice of granting automatic U.S. citizenship to children born to illegal immigrants in an effort to reduce ‘anchor babies.’******

· Establishes an independent verification system for Social Security numbers; also mandates that immigrant’s Social Security numbers expire when visa runs out.

· Establishes electronic birth & death registries to fight fraudulent Social Security cards

· Helps reduce Individual Taxpayer Identification Number abuse.

· Empowers state & local law enforcement to carryout immigration laws (but does not make it mandatory).

· Establishes penalties for most flagrant employer tax violations—i.e. if an employer willfully files incorrect tax returns, they will be assessed the maximum penalties available.

· Makes it illegal to operate day laborer centers for illegal aliens and to give them unemployment assistance.

· Eliminates in-state tuition benefits for illegal aliens.

Build the fence!

· Empowers state & local law enforcement to carryout immigration laws (but does not make it mandatory).

Make it mandatory! It should be!

Other than this, it would be a start.

It's nice that Roy Beck and NumbersUSA have good proposals like this, but there was a bill proposed in 2001 that would have done the same thing: HR 190

Bob Stump of Arizona proposed it, and our useful Republican Congressmen and President did.....nothing.

Well, I take that back. They left the gate open for another 6 - 8 million to flood in so that they could eventually say, "There's too many of 'em! We can't deport 'em now!"

It's a problem they exacerbated, on purpose. And they willfully ignored useful laws like HR 190. And Bob Stump retired in disgust.
