He’s had 6+ years and the mother of all mandates after 911 for “Border Security”. Every person he appointed in this area (Gonzales, Chertoff...etc) is a “yes” man and a lackey.

Bush has no cred.

6+ years and tens of thousands stream across each week.....and he expects us to believe him now?

How insulting.

We knew long ago that this immigration thing was a pet project of his.

The immigration thing, yes. But he never said he supported amnesty. In fact, the only times he even mentioned the word amnesty, was to say that his guest worker program wasn't amnesty.

He lied.

Haven't you seen any of the threads discussing how to get in on the racket & skedaddle? Ya think the upper classes who live behind gated walls in Mexico City, Lima, et al get hosed? Hardly.

It's really sad when even FRANCE is looking like a decent alternative these days.

I’m tired of hearing we knew.

We didn’t know he’d call us racists, UnAmerican and attempt to play off we’re yahoos that don’t know what we’re talking about. We didn’t know he was this big of a Liar. If we had known all that, he wouldn’t be in that office right now.

I was thinking of Chambliss's proposal to secure funding for border security as a separate bill

Either way, if they are proposing to use the money raised from the immigrant bill fees and fines in order to fund the related spending, it shows without a doubt that the immigrant bill is a bill to merely raise revenue and is wholly unconstitutional.

Word to Tony— Trust but Verify in this conext means giving you the benefit of the doubt you will enforce the border, but making you prove it FIRST. Reagan certainly didn’t intend for spinmeisters like you to twist it into cart blanche to override the demands of the citizenry.

I’m rarely home to listen to Laura these days, was today heard Tony’s voiceand had o shut it off. I knew she was going to rip him to shreds, but I just couldn’t stomach hearing one more damn lie from their mouths.

"What American in their right mind would want to destroy their own people and take their country and party down in the process?"

A globalist. I always remember that his father, Bush I, was the first to use the phrase "new world order" publicly. He's trained Bush II well.

They finally admitted it, this is a bill to raise revenue for the treasury

I believe you may have misinterpreted the thrust of the Senate bill and the proposed amendment by Senators Kyl & Graham. The Senate may propose amendments to current laws regarding emergency or other funding, but they may not create new laws designed to obtain new revenue streams in future fiscal years. That is the perogative of the House per the Constitution. What the Senate is actually proposing here is an emergency funding amendment, which allows them to exceed appropriation caps for the current fiscal year, and obtaining those funds via the back door by borrowing from the treasury. If the House agrees with this approach the amendment could be become law, if the House does not the Senate amendment would be meaningless and it would be withdrawn from further consideration on the Senate calendar.

Bush said the measure would ``show the American people that we're going to do our jobs of securing this border once and for all.''

Too late, George. We've already seen your results.

Bush “endoresed a plan.” Kyl and Graham “have proposed such an amendment.”

And as Lott says, it can be washed out by the time it gets to the Rotunda in conference. No Problem.

And they can't figure out why we don't trust them. How dense is that??

It's really sad when even FRANCE is looking like a decent alternative these days.

We're going back to visit Paris in two weeks after a 3 year hiatus. It will be weird to see if the French are more conservative than Americans. Maybe you just have to go further down the path before you realize what's in store if you don't turn around.

At this point I’ve decided that they made dirty deals with corporations and foreign governments. They’re behaving like drug addicts in debt and in danger from their dealers. The mess they’ve made isn’t my fault and it’s not my problem.

Bush Budget Scraps 9,790 Border Patrol Agents (From 2005)

You betcha!

This "amendment" for "tougher border security" will be marked the same as that bill was, "Subject to the Availability of Appropriations."

And we can all figure out what that means. When Amnesty time comes there will be PLENTY of appropriations. When enforcement comes, there will be NO appropriations.

Deception, deception, deception. If we all just run on the premise that our government is deceiving us at all times and places, we'll be a lot better off.

No need to pledge, except for allegiance to the flag of The United States of America.

As for tougher border security...just do it...NOW.
