Outrage! Mel Martinez Condemns U.S In Latin America (Debbie Schlussel Open Borders RINO Alert)

Now, he's really gone too far.

Republican Party Chairman and Florida U.S. Senator Mel Martinez needs to get out of politics before he single-handedly (well, actually with the help of President George W. Bush and other Senators like Jon Kyl) destroys the Republican Party forever.

Today's Wall Street Journal Washington Wire reports that--despite the GOP's jilted lover stalking of the Hispanic vote (including such tactics as the Illegal Alien Amnesty Bill)--more Hispanics than ever identify themselves as Democrats rather than Republicans. A new Wall Street Journal/NBC poll finds that they identify 51% to 21% as Democrats to Republicans.

But, instead of facing the music that open borders advocacy doesn't help the GOP even from a pragmatic, vote-whoring point of view, Martinez instead BLAMES America for "past foreign interventions in Latin American countries" for the downward decline in Hispanic GOP identification. And, Martinez maintains, "a skillful 2008 Republican candidate can recover.

Sandinista, er . . . GOP Chairman, Senator Mel Martinez

HUH?????!!!!! Ronald Reagan is turning over in his grave . . . again.

The last American "foreign intervention in Latin America" was when we supported the Nicaraguan Freedom Fighters--the Contras--against the Communist tyranny of the Sandinistas, headed by Gucci-glasses, pre-Lasik Daniel Ortega. We need to "recover" from that?!

If only we had listened to Oliver North in Nicaragua's elections, last year, and had another "foreign intervention in Latin America." But we did not, and Daniel Ortega (now Lasik-ed) has returned to power.

And, guess what? Our lack of "foreign intervention in Latin America," this time around, didn't help the GOP, Senor Martinez.

But it did lead to this . . .

Mr. Martinez, time for you to say Adios . . . before the rest of America says Adios to you and your party.

Oh, and by the way, that same Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll showed that fewer than 30% of members of both parties--the GOP and the Democrats--call the Senate immigration amnesty bill "acceptable."

Like I said, take the hint, Mr. Martinez. Say bye-bye. Please.

Thanks for that list. I've put all the email addresses together, separated by semi-colons so FReepers should be able to cut-n-paste this list to blind carbon copy (bcc) these aides. If anyone sees any mistakes I made in the list, please post a correction. A good idea might be to send your email to yourself (to make sure it went through) and bcc everyone on the list.

From "Mel Martinez Aims to Turn Around Republican Party":
Adam Segal, director the Hispanic Voter Project at Johns Hopkins University, said Hispanic voters are split over immigration, in particular a temporary guest worker program...The party that can figure out how best to address immigration issues could seal the Latino vote next election, he said.

Mel & Jorge Bush seem to think the best way to appeal to hispanic Americans is to forgive criminals, and to make it easier for law-breakers to stay in the country while simultaneously making it more difficult for immigrants pursuing the legal route to get into the country.

Get a clue guys! Stop pandering to offensive stereotypes.

The best way to appeal to us is to execute the laws already on the books, create a system that better rewards those going thru legal channels while punishing those going through illegal ones, and does not ignore crimes against property or people.

Did you catch this quote from your link?
“We believe that the party that captures and motivates and gets the Hispanic vote to turn out is going to be the party who wins the White House” in 2008, said Brent Wilkes, national executive director of the League of United Latin American Citizens, the nation’s largest and oldest Hispanic rights group.
Brent Wilkes, the Bush Pioneer? Brent Wilkes, the one under indictment in the Duke Cunningham debacle (right before Gonzales fired the US Attorney, Carol Lam). Now he is executive director of LULAC, a group funded by George Soros and the Ford Foundation? This Brent Wilkes is a spokesman for Republican success?

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that many of the President’s appointees are Hispanic. Is it favoritism or payback?

I am inclined to think "pay back" at this point.

It just seems like the "deal" has been made but the American people just don't want to pay.

The story of these interventions is not nearly as simple as the "evil gringo" version taught in Latin American and US schools, but they did indeed happen.

Yeah so what. Mel?

How about our European interventions? WW1.WW2,Fifty years of Cold War, Kosovo etc.

Or our Asian interventions WW1.WW2,Korea, Philipines, Fifty years of Cold War

That's the thing with being an important country.

Big Power. Big Interests.

“Guiteriez has a very inspiring story, imho. He started out as a route salesman and became CEO of Kellogs. And you m???”

So he knew how to screw over people the most and outsource to Mexico, etc. and thereby got to the top. “Inspiring”

Stories are just pap. Look to what he says, does and spins.

“Get a clue guys! Stop pandering to offensive stereotypes.”

It’s actually good strategy, Rove deployed it last year.

A liberal politicians fear being labelled “conservative” more than the care about facts. They also love to oppose themselves to conservatives, and label them as mean, etc. Rove/Bush labelling the opposition as wholly “conservative” keeps the liberal media and elites in line.

Last year all Rove had to do is leak twice that “conservative house republicans” were the problem and the liberal media, progressives, NPR all went running at that like a Labrador dog after a stick.

Martinez is Cuban so that’s where I got confused. But they’re all on the same side of the issue along with the Bush family. And make no mistake, this is about putting Jeb in the White House.
