ABC’s Biden is adamant but unfair.
He gave the surge (began Friday) not even 48 hours.

12-20 million new "citizens" just describes the ones that are already here; not the ones who will flood the border so they can get here and fake credentials to stay here.

One item that never gets mentioned is the cost of cleaning up the SSN's that illegals have used to falsify their right to work in this country. Even with 9 digits to choose from, there are only so many SSN's available.

You might get a statement every few years from SS that shows your earnings credit, but:

If you max out anyway, there is no way to tell if somebody is using your SSN;

If somebody is using dear old Uncle Fred's SSN, and Uncle Fred has already passed, who is checking that?

And if you register your new-born in order to comply with IRS regulations, then find out that child's SSN has routinely had earnings reported to it, where and how does all that get straightened out?

All this so the government can decriminalize identity theft. Too bad Ted Kennedy and John Kerry and John Edwards don't allow illegals to use their identity as covers for the illegal actions.

Timmy is trying very, very hard to prove to his listeners that our efforts in Iraq are a complete waste of time.

He reads Crocker Reid’s statement about Petraeus being out of touch with what’s going on in Baghdad.

I don’t know why Crocker didn’t just break out in guffaws over that. Instead, he tries to give a thoughtful and complete response. He really should just laugh.

Now he plays Powell and his civil war remarks from last week. Timmy’s agenda is on full display this morning.

Thanks, anita. Let’s not forget that Senator Dodd has had a long standing relationship with businesses in the securities industry (so much for money movement and investment being a conservative business)

Sen John Cornyn R-TX

Cornyn, KB Hutchinson, and several other Senators are going wobbly.

The weight from carrying all that pork promised by the Arm-twister-in-Chief is a heavy load. It's hard work, but somebody's gotta to do it.

Russert is letting Crocker give complete answers. I think it’s because Crocker, who may be a really smart guy, I have no idea, appears very weak.

Tim asks if the Iraqis know that 2/3 of Americans now think going into Iraq was a mistake.

Now what is the point of a question like that?

Interesting tidbit I came across this morning on The Corner @ NRO which gives exposure to the audacity of some immigration lawyers:

http://corner.nationalreview.com/

Jobs Americans Won’t Do, Part DCCLXIX [Mark Krikorian]

The indefatigable Norm Matloff, a computer science professor at UC Davis, pointed me to this video of an immigration lawyer explaining to clients how to pretend to look for American workers in such a way as to make sure they don’t actually find any (it’s at about 7:55). The law firm may take the video down once it gets some publicity, so here’s the nut graf:

” And our goal is clearly not to find a qualified and interested U.S. worker. And you know in a sense that sounds funny, but it’s what we’re trying to do here. We are complying with the law fully, but ah, our objective is to get this person a green card, and get through the labor certification process. So certainly we are not going to try to find a place [at which to advertise the job] where the applicants are the most numerous. We’re going to try to find a place where we can comply with the law, and hoping, and likely, not to find qualified and interested worker applicants. “

If anyone is out of ouch with what’s going on in Iraq it’s these Senator’s and Congressmen that don’t have the balls to go there and see for themselves what is actually going on in Iraq.

That’s because if they saw what was actually happening it would confirm that they are the plank holders in the effort to undermine and defeat their own country’s efforts in Iraq.

Instead they find time and make the effort to meet with and verbally support those countries that are aligned against us...while they ignore...disparage and generally backstab the very people they SHOULD be supporting.

Wallace with Patraeus:

1. Asks about the soldier ID cards being found; got some leads, but not “hot” leads....continue to pursue our troops, and will not give up.

2. Surge: Full complement of troops there now; up to now just “shaping operations”, now we have full troop count enables us to launch ops into sanctuaries that have AQ, and the surge is ahead of where we thought we would be in some cases, behind in others. Anbar is a key example of successful operations.

3. Pentagon quarterly report indicated no measurable success to date; level of violence unchanged during surge. How come this is so dissapointing? One metric that US tracks is sectarian violence, which has gone down — then up — but is trending back down again. As we go on offensive, the enemy responds — as anticipated. Overall mixed perspective, serious work ahead still.

4. Reid comment questioning his credibility. SHows quote of Reid, the america hater, and how Reid knows more than the General. Patreaus says he is forthright — he bases his assessments on personal observation. The fact is there are signs of normalcy, kids are playing soccer, markets open, etc. He tells both sides of the story, and why shouldn’t he report the good with the bad? How does it feel when DC says you are out of touch; Patraeus very political and does not take the bait. We are occupied with our work in Bagdad, don’t need to play the stupid DC games.

5. Shows clip of President Bush and then another pentagon report trying to imply that the President is a liar. Patraeus comes right back: extreme Suni’s ARE AQ, so keep it in the right bin and stop playing the games of sectarian violence. Very appropriate to emphasis of AQ in Iraq and provoking the Iraqi’s into sectarian violence.

6. Some sectarian violence for sure, and we are trying to break that cycle of violence so the political solutions can move foreward. Bottom up political process is beginning to work and that is promising.

7. A good interview overall, the General portrayed the situation on all fronts — the good, the bad, and the ugly. I think Wallace did a pretty good job of questioning and gave the General lots of time to explain the WHOLE situation. September progress coming up after the break.

As always Anita, thanks for the great nuggets. I noticed that Clark was gone from FNC and now appearing on MSNBC — he fits in there so much better anyway. They are the hate speech and lies channel, and well......that fits clark to a tee!

General P has been there since the beginning. As a Division CG...his division...the 101st Infantry (Airborne) were responible for the timely demise of Uday and Qusay.

He’s been the Corps Commander over there and now he’s running the entire show.

So tell me who’s more “in touch” a General who’s been in country off and on since 2003 or a corrupt Socialist Senator who prefers to rely on the false reports of the Green Zone snipers of the DBM for his “intel”?

One senator who went there recently, wrote about it on WSJ, because MSM don't want to hear from him. Here 's Liberman's observation on Iraq.

Eugene Robinson says, falsely, that it was the White House that set up September as the all-important date and is now trying to tamp down expectations.

Said the Border Security measures would take at least 18 months to get fully in place and no one was going trust DC on this issue until those things were done.

Exactly. The Bush Admin has been making big promises since 2001, but they are not delivering.

The National Guard-on-the-Border was one of the biggest fiascos in political history. It was nothing but a year-long shellgame dog-and-pony show to hoodwink the public. If the actual number of NG did reach the 6,000 promised, it was only for a few weeks in duration.

Much of the NG time was 'in training' and they counted that. Much of the NG actual duties included such border securing activities as washing BG vehicles and making sure the paperwork was filed. Much of the program was consumed with cycling the NG in two-week tours.

So, yeh, trust, or rather the lack of trust, is a real issue with this White House and Senate.

Ah I see. NO proof at all. Just accept the dogma, no questioning allowed! Funny how much the "Conservatives" have become just like the Hysteric Left. When the facts don't fit the dogma, simply deny the facts.
