I don’t check these things, but I wonder if FOX has had any dip in their ratings? I know that I rarely watch them these days. It’s strange to say, but Lou Dobbs has had Duncan on more than FOX has.

I think we need to keep sending Hunter our donations - keep him out there talking to people. Even if he never breaks out to where he needs to get - his is the voice that is keeping OUR conservative issues out there. When people hear him one on one - they really like him.

Duncan is a necessary component of this race:

- He keeps important issues like Illegal Immigration & Unfair Trade with China on the table.

- He is establishing himself as an excellent choice for the VP or a Cabinet position with, hopefully, Fred Thompson as President.

- He builds his name recognition every day.

GO DUNCAN HUNTER!!!

That is the best argument not to support him, I suppose. But since it is the only argument, I reject it and encourage all to support him.

It's the only argument not to support him and its not really a good reason. A few people I don't know and know nothing of theiraccomplishments tells me on an Internet forum that the man with the most conservative credentials has no chance to win 15 months before the primary?

Its not as if Hunter is a mean, ugly, short, bald, gay, weird, stupid, one issue candidate. In fact he is tall, smart, good hair, well spoken, plain spoken, honest and kind. He has a real resume as a person and articulates the Conservative position without apology, anger or splitting hair. I assume its because he actually believes the things he says.

Name recognition is all he lacks as a candidate. I would encourage Republican primary voters to study Hunter and his positions and if he agrees with you, support him.

Very well said, that bears repeating.

He’ll be a great SECDEF for Thompson. I think Haley Barbour will be VP.

I’ve worried about FOX taking over the “conservative” movement. They are not conservative, with Bill O’Reilly and his populist schtick, and Fred Barnes and company . . . I worry that mainstream voters will think FOX is “conservative” and that real conservatives are the “fringe.”

Man! I almost lost my coffee!

I did kind of accidentally describe Rudy, kind of. I do happen to like Rudy though so it wasn't intended, but I still love a good joke! LMAO!

Remember Jimmy Carter. No name recognition before the primaries. Remember Bill Clinton. No name recognition before the primaries. Hunter is not a “no-chance-of-winning” candidate by a long shot, especially running against the bizarre candidate that the Dems will offer (Hillary Clinton — Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton . . . come on!)

I believe that is the Globalist/Elitist/Country Club Republicans whole agenda. Call me a tin-foil-hat wearing member of the fringe, but I do believe that those forces are actively implementing an effort to do just that.

If people think he can’t win in the general election then they must think Conservative ideas can’t win. Its just not the case. Its just there hasn’t been anyone to articulate those principles since Reagan unless you count Newt in the 94 elections to the House.

I think it's become pretty obvious that conservative beliefs are under assault right now. There are powerful people out there trying to destroy us as a force & the scary thing is - they are on OUR team!

True. Like Joshua said while spying out the country for take over, "they're like grasshoppers".

they are on OUR team!

Well since they are shaving points we better pull em out of the game. We're the coach's and they are the players, we decide who starts, who sits and who's cut. LOL!

to the Right of Attila the Hun

I doubt you meant anything by this throw-away line, but this conflation of "Attila" with "Right-Wing" is a classic lefty trope intended to marginalise and confuse conservative thought. Please beware of using it!

FREEPERS! The next time someone uses this expression in your hearing, please ask them: was Attila in favour of small government and reduced taxes? Was he a social conservative?

No. His name is a byword for cruelty and barbarism. The left wing has caused cruelty and barbarism unmatched in human history (Nazis, Communists, Maoists) - it is they who are Attila's rightful heirs.

Sorry for jumping down your throat with this. Now returning you to the thread :0)

The MSM has a vested interest in making the election between a very liberal and liberal-light (kinda like the British elections). They can ruin what conservatism is about and have two dogs in the fight.

As awful as Lou Dobbs can be at times, he certainly has been dead nuts on regarding the border. In Hunter, he has an ally.
