You are correct. His son is running for his congressional seat.

We still have time to get our contributions to the Hunter campaign so they will resonate with the FEC and put our candidate into a higher tier. That report is due by 6/30, so time is very short. Please do what you can to give our man a leg up by emailing your financial support to:

http://www.GoHunter08.com

Or TODAY send your generous check made out to Duncan Hunter for President by snail mail to:

9340 Fuerte Drive, Suite 302, La Mesa, CA 91941-4164

I can’t remember a more vital election for our country. I increased my Monday donation to $500.00! Come on, folks, let’s do it!

The Speaker of the House can’t decide foreign policy(unless it’s Pelosi). Duncan Hunter is the only candidate who truly understands the threat of islamofascism. We need him in the White House so that we can defeat our enemy. None of the other candidates are as tough on terror as Hunter is.

Also, Hunter is resigning from his House seat so he can’t become Speaker.

I believe that Hunter is giving up his seat to run for President.

I'd be surprised if the filing deadline for his House seat has passed by Super Tuesday.

Ouch. Ok, I’ll see how much more I can squeeze out.

Remember Jimmy Carter. No name recognition before the primaries. Remember Bill Clinton. No name recognition before the primaries. Hunter is not a “no-chance-of-winning” candidate by a long shot, especially running against the bizarre candidate that the Dems will offer (Hillary Clinton — Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton . . . come on!)

Unfortunately, it's not the same situation as Carter and Clinton. Being Democrats, they could count on the fawning attention of the news media. Hunter can't. (I remember an extraordinarily early Time or Newsweek cover story on Jimmy Carter--I bet it came at a time when the average member of the public had never heard of him.)

So, let's all turn off the TV and not watch the media desperately try to change . . .

I get your point though . . . no freebies from the main stream media for Hunter. And conservatives aren’t as active on the net as liberals were for Dean etc.

But, that “activity” is really just having the guts to send out an e-mail or two to your contact list to try to get them interested . . .

Hi pissant, all

I like Hunter just fine on every issue.

More importantly though, considering the shenanigans going on in Congress regarding Illegal Aliens:

IMHO, there is ONLY ONE presidential candidate that guarantees a border fence and tough enforcement of the law- That one being Duncan Hunter.

Regardless of the MSM spin, and the RNC spin, even regardless of 'whether he can win'... True conservatives and those desiring real border control and law enforcement must focus and get behind this man.

The Dream Team: Hunter/Tancredo in 2008!

Tancredo has a tendency to put his foot in his mouth, but I do like the man. He sent a plate of Nachos to McCain in a NH restaurant after the debate there. CLASSIC.

I agree with your assessment. I can and would accept Tancredo as President- His heart is in the right place, I think... But I believe Hunter to be better candidate.

Hunter better win this. I’m not gonna have enough money to move to Poland if he doesn’t :(

If you’ve been in contact with the Hunter campaign, you will be hearing from them. The other day the Hunter family sent their heartfelt thanks to FReeper Hunter supporters through me and several others here on FR. So if you missed the thread, I relay their sincere thanks to all their supporters on this thread as well.

The campaign has really taken off! I don’t know how the man keeps up his fight in Congress and manages with his very active campaign schedule at the same time. He is phenomenal!

There has been a successful preliminary mailing, and a mass mailing is in the offing very soon. Please continue to be patient. And please continue to support him financially, too. http://GoHunter08.com. Thank you so much.

FINALLY got a mailing from DH’s campaign today! It’s a sign they’re picking up steam. I’m going to send in another donation before the 30th.

Go Duncan Hunter!

I think state wide elections are not relevant.

San Diego has 3 million population,
more than some of the entire state populations of some of the other candidates. The states of Ark & KS have less than 3 millon population.

Hunter’s background in National Security, defense, military, border issues far exceed those of all other candidates. His experience for over 20 yrs. in congress
on major issues along having been Chairman of the Armed Services Comm.
Also having been a Vietnam War Vet and his son 2 tours in Iraq and third now in Afghanistan.

Our first priority is the War on Terror and the illegals.
We don’t need a guy who only spent 3 1/2 yrs as a gov.
and another gov. who both have no clue on national security and military.
The Mayor running has no state background.

The last thing we need now is an MBA type while we are in the war for our lives.

Hey, I didn’t get a bumper sticker!! (Well, actually, another freeper was kind enough to send me a few! lol!) Still, I feel left out! We need to get his name known out here in Pennsylvania! I work for a Republican elected official, and she said she never heard of him!
