I don’t know that it’s that obvious violence isn’t part of the celebration. I don’t mean that violence is advocated but the whole “celebration” is based on resentment: resentment about slavery and resentment that it took so long for official notice of the Emancipation Proclamation to reach some blacks. So if you are stoking negative attitudes, then violence is a logical, if not inevitable, outgrowth of that stoking.

I’d like to at least know the race of the victim. Was this a Damian “Football” Williams style beating of a White motorist by a gang of Black Thugs, or was he just part of the celebration and having issues with his ‘dawgs’.

That might be interesting to know the race of the victim (and the silence may say all we need to know), but you don’t really believe that if the victim were white and the thugs black, the media would characterize it as a hate crime, do you?
