This video shows drug smugglers being shot down over the Colombian Amazon jungle.

The Colombian air force had been trailing the drug smugglers in an Embraer Super Tucano, which is used to patrol borders, among other missions.

The video presents a coordination between English speaking and Spanish speaking crews during the interception.

How did they know they were drug smugglers? What I saw on the video was an unarmed aircraft shot down by a fighter. There wasn't any big sign that said "drug smuggler" on the side.

I have no reason to suppose that they're not - I do believe that a plane load of missionaries was shot down by some south american government several years ago, and the cover-up was unsuccessful. If you have a load of dissidents or revolutionaries, then what better cover to kill them than calling them "drug smugglers" No evidence either way.
