Sarge Speaks on the Duke 88

Every now and then I get an email from a reader that puts a topic into words as good, if not better than I. This is one of those occasions.

Sarge57 sent me an account of a message sent to the "Concerned Duke Faculty", now affectionately known as the "Gang of 88". His letter was impassioned, but never rude or obscene. The response he received was telling....

My prayer is that good people will refuse to send their sons and daughters to these “prestigious” schools, as there are plenty of excellent colleges and universities out there to choose from these days.

Send the ELITES a message: We don’t like the garbage you thrust down our throats, so we’ve decided to use our power to send our children somewhere friendlier and that shows respect for others.

Paula McClain receives two critical e-mails from a black man from the South Side of Chicago and immediately reports him as guilty of "harassment"! (Since she attended Howard University she is presumably a black woman.)

What was harsh about Sarge’s letter. It was clear concise and respectful. That he gloated a bit is acceptable...the Gang of 88 deserved it.

I’m not sure if Sarge is black or not, and that’s not the issue here.

What is telling how the faculty went after a small group of students (who are customers) and when they were proven wrong, they can’t take one gazillionth of the heat they dished out. Only one out of the 88 responded.

It really speaks to their character, or lack thereof. And for Duke to give this woman a promotion is beyond belief.

Her webpage says it all. Here is a person who never spent a day in her life outside academia, and who is clearly not competent to train young minds as future productive citizens.

Don’t EVER send your kids to a university for a “liberal arts” education. Send them to learn a hard science or productive professional occupation, like physics, engineering or business. Of course those courses are hard, but, these “soft sciences” are rotting out our country from within, and this worthless arrogant airhead is leading the pack.

How interesting that Ms. McClain could not respond to Sarge's comments. That she could only respond with clearly fabricated charges of "harassment" and "abusive and inappropriate language" speaks volumes about her and her lack of any defense for her own and the actions of the other 87.

If I were searching for a university to attend, Duke would not be on the list at all. The university has embraced the actions of these 88, as evidenced by the enhanced position this woman now holds. Students, beware. Duke will allow the same to happen to you. You represent income for the university to support faculty members like these.

Duke has no idea how much damage they have caused themselves here in N.C. and nationally for that matter. They'll only discover the full extent of the damage to their reputation as an educational institution in years to come. They did little more than buy themselves out of what should have been brought before the Courts; something that I’m sure Nifong couldn't afford as a mere District Attorney. Statewide and nationally, every parent is now wondering how their young college aged person would be treated by Duke if they were to choose them as a university and fall into similar circumstances. It's a risk that I believe NO parent is willing to take.

Given that the above consideration can only be answered by Duke's own recent actions, we can only come to one logical conclusion which is to leave them alone in the heap of moral ruins which they have become.

Unfortunately, the concensus among citizens here in N.C. is that Duke University is now lumped in with the likes of the Durham N.C. Chapter of the Black Panthers, the NAACP, and the "Shakedown Brothers" - Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton.

Furthermore, it goes without saying that the "intelligencia" comprising the Gang of 88 succumbed to a simple attempt of extortion by a whorish young woman who played them like a cheap fiddle. I'm quite certain though that in their cloistered and protected "land of academia" they won't realize this, and will continue to turn their noses at us peons who despise them now.

Feel free to direct Duke administrative personnel to this thread. I'm in N.C. quite close to Duke (two counties over), and have college aged kids. I think I speak for many people with what I've said.
