The government can't enforce the laws they are hired to enforce. So they pass another law that says the employers must police the immigration program otherwise there will be severe consequences.

Do you see the irony in that?

We the people create a government to provide certain services such as border security.

They provide that service by passing a law that says we will be punished if we hire the very people we hired them to keep out.

What about all the PUBLIC schools that are admitting illegal aliens into their classrooms?

Just another good reason to get the federal government OUT of the education business. It's the Feds that force the local districts to accept these kids without documentation.

And please understand, I make those comments as a parent who has a child that attends public school.

I've provided evidence that has sent mailers to prison for long periods of time for failing to properly pay their postage.

You can say whatever you want about these penalties, but losing your business is really not the same class as hard time in prison.

If failure to properly pay postage can yield prison time, so too should failure to conform to the law regarding hiring nonresident aliens.

Yup ~ I favor hard time in a federal prison camp somewhere aove 12,000 foot elevation ~ light cotton uniforms and all ~ busting rocks.

Least a person can do is protect himself by NOT violating the law. That's hardly the same thing as doing a job the government can't do.

I'd suggest that if you or some other employer just can't help him or her self from breaking the law, you see a psychiatrist.

Sen. Barbara Leff, R-Paradise Valley, worried that a "rogue" employee in charge of hiring, acting without blessing of the business' owners, could put a large company out of business by hiring one or two janitors who are in the country illegally.

Lousy argument. A "rogue" bookkeeper can steal you blind. That's why we have bonding companies.
