Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barbara Boxer have big plans to rein in conservative radio talk shows, according to Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla.

He said Thursday on John Ziegler's evening radio show on KFI in L.A. that he overheard Clinton, D-N.Y., and Boxer, D-Calif., saying they want legislation to control conservative radio talk shows.

This is really just coming out into the open. The plot by the radical left, heavily funded by the Clinton/Soros mob of the mindless wealthy who want to silence the voice of truth about the radical left. Much more to follow on this -- Hannity did a great expose' yesterday on his show about this rather large effort to silence the free NEW MEDIA. Watch out for the return of the "FAIRNESS DOCTRINE"...and First Amendment busting sham onto itself. More to come.

If this was ever implemented, I really believe there would finally be people in the streets. Something like this would do it. The immigration bill almost does it but not quite.

I hope that you are right - what is it going to take to get us in the streets? We're just like a frog in a pot of water being slowly brought to a boil. We lose a little bit every day.

What worries me is that the dems I know personally - would think this is a good idea, because they hate & fear Rush Limbaugh so much. They truly believe government is their saviour. It's frightening that there are that many stupid people around & that they are voting too.

I doubt if such legislation would ever past muster even with RATS in charge, let alone get past a Supreme Court challenge. This is not complex Campaign Finance Reform (which was a funding issue)...Americans would be quick to understand this as it is a black-or-white freedom of speech issue and there is no possible way that this could be otherwise spun—liberals, for years, have forwarded their lust for porn mags and smut movies with a “you don’t have to read or watch it” and the turnabout is fair play comeback is “if you don’t like talk radio, don’t listen to it!”

“We’re just like a frog in a pot of water being slowly brought to a boil. We lose a little bit every day. “

You’ve hit it exactly. As long as the malls are open, and American Idol is on, most people won’t notice.

Lott was with the Dems in the 80’s in an attempt to re-instate the fairness doctrine...Reagan vetoed it.

Could a friendly Freeper please give me some thoughts on why I can’t get Breitbart.com to work on my system? Youtube links work fine, and streaming radio works fine, and I usually don’t have a problem with other audio links, but I can see this thing loading and “playing” but I’m getting nothing. I’ve tried playing this clip from a couple of sources (Drudge and now the Freep via FoxNews.com) and still the same problem.

Thanks for any thoughts.

I oppose anybody who opposes free and open dialog on talk radio. It goes without saying that I oppose Clinton and Boxer for a variety of reasons, this adding to the point.

Any efforts to stop Bill Bennett, Curtis & Kuby, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Laura Ingram or any other radio hosts will be met with swift responses. This is far bigger than the immigration bill.

Burning books will be the next step after “Fairness Doctrine” crap to restrict free speech.

It has never been a secret that the left hates the freedoms of speech and press and have always sought control it.

First to avoid confusion, I am adamantly opposed to the 'unFairness Doctrine', but pose the following suggestion as one possible method of defeating it.

Why should TV be exempt? As I understand this applies only to radio, which libs are deathly afraid of. Do not all their arguments (public ones anyway) also equally apply to TV (not cable).

The left would scream outrage if they were forced to give equal time on TV.

Trent Lott, Barbara Boxer, and Hillary Clinton all on the same page, that is scary. Two witches and b***** or is it two b***** and a witch. Whatever, you have one member of the Kennedy wing of the Republican Party hooking up with the Rodham wing of the Democratic Party, and no good can come of that.

:::::
And of course, do not forget the criminally complicit MSM liberal rags. They too, would have to provide for both sides of the “argument”. The very idea of what these frantic, criminal libs want to do, and it clearly is out in the open now, is sooooo unconstitutional, that it must suffer defeat. But they will try and sugar-coat their treason with their favorite word “FAIR” OR “FAIRNESS”. As if they issue has anything to do with anything other than the suppression of free speech.

Absolutely not. And the attempts will come and they must be fought off by those that want to protect America and its freedoms from these tyrants. Don’t doubt that the effort is building, and heavily funded, and it will be more backroom and under-the-table attempts to install legislation that does exactly what they want to do. I would expect to see something to protect Hillary from MORE exposure before the 2008 election.
