That's the way to do it. Go to the experts.

The gun control idiots will try anything to deny people of their constitutional rights, won't they.

This is stupid on SO MANY levels, not the least of which is this will open doctors to yet another form of lawsuit.

This is why when your doctor hands you that stupid government mandated survey that asks if you have guns in the house, you always answer, “NO!”

I thought the wording had to do with court-decided mental illness, not just the testimony of a doctor...although I will admit there is a fine line that must be watched.

Remember, if the Dims have their way, all of the doctors will soon work for the government.

All part of the new socialist order the dimbulbs want to establish. Doctors should ask their patients about their political affiliation and if they say demonrat, that should be grounds for a no vote of confidence letter.

I do not think people that are mentally ill should have guns, for example people that suffer with manic depression but this could open up a huge can of worms.

What about the guy that went through a depression problem back in 1982 because of job loss, should he be banned from owning a gun?

What about the many liberal physicians, are they going to say that none of their patients can have a gun?

I thought about this many years ago, that this would be a way the gun-grabbers could disarm the people.

Make it a "health" issue and your medical insurance would deny you and your family coverage if there were guns in the home.

What choice would you make if faced with this decision? Guns or medical insurance for your spouse and kids.

This is a scary deal.

I don't have to worry about this because I don't have any guns. No Glocks, or AR-15's or Baretta's or various shotguns or rifles like Russian made AK-47's or any of that type of stuff. Nope! Not me!

That's my answer if anyone asks:)

What the devil do doctors have to do with what you have in your home?

A doctor taking such an action in the absense of hard data can expect to be sued out of business. Trial lawyers are standing-by...

We’re lucky. Our doctor is an award winning target shooter. He has his plaques displayed in his office. He’s also a libertarian. He HATES nanny-staters!

Ok, on the one hand this is a bunch of B.S., but on the other we just had my MIL deemed mentally unfit and had her committed. She didn't own a gun, but if she did we would have used this in a heartbeat to take it away from her, she was that unstable. My BIL went as far as to disable her car so she couldn't drive until we could finally get her the help she needed.

This is a terribly slippery slope, but I believe there are certainly cases where it would do a heck of a lot of good, then again I can see it being abused far too often by activist Dr's too. Maybe if they had to have a consensus of close family members also to be able to do it, that would certainly alleviate a few fears I think.

Who is most capable of diagnosing mental health issues, your hairdresser?

Way too much wrong with this piece.

I would reply to that as I do the question if we wear seat belts - it has nothigng to do with the reason I am seeing a doctor today.
