Thompson to Announce Next Tuesday here in Nashville.
WSMV Television 4 - Nashville, TN ^ | 6-22-07 | VideoDoctor

Fred Thompson is set to announce that Nashville will be the home of his national campaign headquarters, WSMV is reporting.

A source close to the campaign planning tells WSMV that that Thompson planned to announce his candidacy on the steps of the historic Fall School Building Tuesday, but Thompson campaign officials deny that Tuesday's announcement is an official run for the White House.

It looks like the "man of the hour" is getting ready to come down the mountain.

"Thompson to Announce Next Tuesday here in Nashville."

This may be one of the announcements that he is going to announce for real in the future. Didn't McLame have several of these preannouncement announcements?

I thought he was going to wait for July. I hope this isn’t one of those false start things where the candidate says he’s going to make a big announcement and it turns out to be an announcement stating that he isn’t announcing yet.

I'm right now watching WSMV's 6:00 PM local newscast.

Lead Story:
Dennis Ferrier a very reliable reporter for many years at Channel 4 stands by his story that Thompson will make the announcement to run from the historical 1898 Fall School, also the site for his campaign office.

I'm simply telling you what I'm seeing and hearing on live broadcast TV here in Nashville.

Didn't McLame have several of these preannouncement announcements?

They're usually cooked up in pre-meeting meetings.

Cross fingers. It would be nice if the USS Fred were to launch soon. The time is right.

Fred’s my man, now if he would only grab Steele as his VP, the dream ticket.

If Fred makes a strong statement against amnesty, he can influence the cloture vote and make himself a conservative hero. Are McConnell, Cochran and Burr willing to go against the likely GOP frontrunner in their states?

Now that I’d like to see. The day they take a vote on cloture have Thompson highlight their efforts to secure amnesty and go against the people. if he’s going to run as the anti-Washington candidate this is definitely the day and the issue to launch himself into the race.

I think the reporter and the source are on a different page as to what “next Tuesday” refers to.

I’m not a language genius but wouldn’t June 26 be “this Tuesday” and “next Tuesday” be July 3?

Since Thompson’s people refuted this report I’m going to bet it will be July 3. It was reported a few days back that they didn’t want to announce on July 4 due to it being more important as our nation’s birthday and people would be doing things anyway.

July 3 would be perfect!

I agree. Timing is everything.

I remember Thompson winning his Tenn Senatorship years back.
He won by the largest margin in Tennessee history even though he faced a strong incumbent.

What I saw back then in his political style is how he let the game come to him.

I would think he's better at it now than he was then. He's very good at connecting to people.. but then to be a highly paid actor you need to have that same attribute.

I could be wrong but I think "The Fred" is gonna sweep this Country like a BIG BROOM. Time will Tell.
