| Take a look at this list -- figure out what you should do with Senators from your state or neighbor | ||||
| DEAR FRIENDS, We need 41 Senators to vote NO on cloture next Tuesday or to not show up for the vote. Sen. Johnson (D-S.D.) is still seriously ill and expected to be a no-show. We believe we have solid commitments from 32 other Senators that they will vote NO on cloture that would allow the Kennedy/Bush amnesty (S. 1639) to come to the Senate floor for debate. That would give us 33 of the 41 we need. Congratulations to all of you who have elected Senators solidly in our camp or who have persuaded Senators to move to the anti-amnesty side -- those Senators in this list: 32 DEFINITE 'NO' ON AMNESTY CLOTURE Many of you will find ways to express tremendous appreciation and to help solidify them so that no offer from the White House or party leadership can turn them at the last moment. Alexander (R-Tenn.) Allard (R-Colo.) Baucus (D-Mont.) Byrd (D-W.Va.) Bunning (R-Ky.) Chambliss (R-Ga.) Coburn (R-Okla.) Corker (R-Tenn.) Cornyn (R-Texas) Crapo (R-Idaho) DeMint (R-S.C.) Dole (R-N.C.) Dorgan (D-N.D.) Enzi (R-Wyo.) Grassley (R-Iowa) Hutchison (R-Texas) Inhofe (R-Okla.) Isakson (R-Ga.) Landrieu (D-La.) McCaskill (D-Mo.) Pryor (D-Ark.) Roberts (R-Kan.) Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) Sanders (I-Vt.) Sessions (R-Ala.) Shelby (R-Ala.) Smith (R-Ore.) Stabenow (D-Mich.) Sununu (R-N.H.) Tester (D-Mont.) Thune (R-S.D.) Vitter (R-La.) 12 SENATORS LEANING NO ON FINAL PASSAGE BUT PROBABLY LEANING YES ON CLOTURE (when it counts) Please do everything you can to get to these Senators and help them understand what is at stake and where the citizens of your state stand. Bond (R-Mo.) Bingaman (D-N.M.) Burr (R-N.C.) Boxer (D-Calif.) Cochran (R-Miss.) Conrad (D-N.D.) Ensign (R-Nev.) Levin (D-Mich.) Gregg (R-N.H.) Nelson (D-Neb.) Hatch (R-Utah) Webb (D-Va.) ALL OTHER SENATORS APPEAR TO BE PLANNING TO VOTE TO HELP PASS A BILL THAT WOULD BE:

If S. 1348 if revived, please vote NO on cloture.
Surely you won’t impose taxpaying citizens with the extraordinary costs of keeping illegal aliens in the country. It would be far better to use enforcement to cause the illegal workers to return to their home countries over time.
The Census Bureau finds that we have 23 million “less-educated” American adults who do not now have a job. Don’t pass S. 1348 and give away their jobs forever.
A Senator [Feinstein] responded to us with this: ...our borders are broken, our national security is compromised, and there is no feasible way to identify and deal with the 10 to 12 million undocumented people now living in the United States.
How much simpler would it be then to get congress to agree on the following bills?:
Bill 1: Fund a fence, build a fence. (Think jobs and national security)
Bill 2: Boost border security. (More jobs and national security)
Bills 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9...: No feasible way to “deal with 10 to 12 million undocumented people”?
Presumably that means, dealing with enforcement and deportation. If we can’t deal with that, then let’s simply stop dealing with them in these much more costly ways.
Stop dealing them jobs.
Stop dealing them licenses to drive.
Stop dealing them an education.
Stop dealing them medical care.
Stop dealing them places to live.
Stop dealing them banking, loans, and money transfers.
Stop releasing arrested aliens in our borders.
Stop publishing government ballots and assistance in foreign languages.
Stop dealing them amnesty.
Shortly thereafter, there wont be 10 to 12 million undocumented people here to deal with.
And should any of these bills fail, at least the rest will accomplish something for borders and security, unlike the current bloated bill.
Shamnesty Ping.
Thanks for the info.
Is there anyone with a Wyoming ping list?
Wyoming folks need to get on the horn with their new Senator (Barrasso) to make sure he knows that if he wants to keep his new job past the next election, he better vote NO on Cloture on this bill.
Also I see Kyl is peddling some enforcement amendment to get more from the GOP side to vote for his scam but it's like everything else, it will supposedly come after amnesty is immediately granted, which means we'll never see it. They really take us for fools.
Just say NO to Illegal Alien Amnesty!! Keep calling!! Its NOT OVER!!

They really take us for fools. We put these freaks in office, didn't we? No wonder they think we're fools.
We need 7 out of 12 on the fence, and 6 of ‘em are Dems. Looks kind of grim.
So remember:
No one said it was going to be easy!
Step up to the plate!
Think outside the box!
What the mind can conceive, the mind can achieve!
Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?
Let’s give it the old college try!
When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.
Raise your game.
Hang in there.
Raise the bar.
Hunker down.
Get your ducks in a row.
Swing for the fences.
Be proactive.
Stay focused.
And finally . . .
Take it to the next level.
I thought as few as 12 “intestine-endowed” Senators could filibuster this through the July 4th holiday if they really “went to the mattresses.” As long as they play this “gentleman’s game” instead of taking out the baseball bats, this will pass.
If there are Senators who would do that, really filibuster so the clowns have to stay there with quorum calls, they’ll attract a crowd in the Senate gallery like you saw in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.” And, I will fly to D.C. to see it and talk radio will cover every second. The folks who do it will be heroes to the US public.
Frank Sheed
True but Kyl lied during this past election and has done a complete 180 from what he said he’d do. He went from being pro-American and pro-borders to becoming a scab on the issue. There’s talk of a recall in Arizona and that’s what they need to do.

Senators,
With Mr. Byrd directing this (he knows every Senate rule ever contemplated), you could filibuster this dog into oblivion and the Honorable Senator from West Virginia, in deference to his age, would not have to be even near the Senate floor.
I’m sorry but IIRC you can’t recall a US Senator. Other Freepers have posted as much.
I’m surprised you got a lucid answer from Senator Feinstein’s office. I wrote to her several times, and got replies back that referred to legislation or pending legislation totally different from the subject I had written on. Gave up on even trying with her!
Believe it or not, Martinez in his election campaign also said he was against amnesty.
Looks bleak. How does the House look?
You did better than I. I wrote to Kerry, Kennedy, and Neal. Not one replied. But that’s Assholeachusetts,a state I can’t wait to leave.
This list is very helpful! Thank you! I will continue to work on Boxer!
BTTT
For those individuals who did not believe that ARIZONA can recall their senators, please see below the signed statements by both Jon Kyl and John McCain who have signed the Statement on Recall which clearly states that they deem themselves responsible to the people and under obligation to them to resign immediately if not re-elected on a recall vote.
I wouldn’t count on the sick guy. If the Dems need him to vote, he will vote. Prayer for his healing.
Same with Trent Lott, they're liars who are bought and sold.
Doing anything this weekend? Here is a list of key Senate contacts (the Senate Staffers e-mails) for email regarding immigration. “Caphillbabe” has posted it in a number of threads. I tried it and only a few kicked back to me as undeliverable.
Many offices are putting calls straight to voicemail and they can just trash faxes (and letters take weeks to get through due to security). Hit Hill staff where they are so codependent - their Blackberries! Send email directly to staff - not just the generic Senate office mailbox. Contact their Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Press Secretary. Make your voice heard!!

Thanks for the update!
Alexander and Corker are up to something...
TN residents have been strong armed and told to shut up by their minions...
And then theres that AMNESTY 3 that they want to introduce...
They are not for REAL immigrants
For 5 weeks they have not answered Emails or questions about the HEALTH SCREENING for 25,000,000 illegal aliens...
And they want to do away with the term “alien”
bump.
If this POS passes I will never give them a single dime, ever. and I will work against everyone up next year. They can take their 14% approval and stuff it. I’m not afraid of them.

Wyoming has just named it’s new Senator effective now. His name is John Barrasso. I imigine he will be in on the voting.

I see no reason why we shouldnt start pounding this new guy now, so he knows right up front what the public thinks of amnesty. Ive faxed all of Thomas offices. I assume the messages will reach the new senator.

I wonder if approval could go to single figures?
Dear.......
Thank you for contacting my office to express your views regarding illegal immigration. I appreciate your providing me with the benefit of your thinking on this matter.
I, too, am opposed to amnesty for illegal aliens. I have successfully blocked attempts to grant amnesty in recent years, and voted against others. I will continue to speak, and vote, in opposition to amnesty, which rewards immigrants for breaking the law by entering the country illegally.
I agree completely that more needs to be done to defend our borders. That is why I have supported building a fence along the southern border with Mexico, and have secured funds to accomplish the task as quickly as possible. I have also worked to provide funds for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to hire additional border patrol agents, immigration enforcement officers, and criminal investigators, as well as to expand detention facilities for illegal immigrants arrested in the United States.
You may be dure that I share your views on tightening our border security, and that I will continue to do all I can to defend our nation's borders.
With kind regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
Robert C. Byrd
We shall see. I just sent him another fax telling him to vote NO on the cloture coming up.
Wow, staffer numbers...GREAT WORK, Greg!!!!! Thanks!
The following GOP senators are reportedly learning “against” the bill but leaning FOR cloture.
In other words, they’re trying to fool us.
Bond
Burr
Cochran
Ensign
Gregg
Hatch
Here are e-mail addresses for their chiefs of staff or other top aides. Be brief, direct, and polite:
brian_klippenstein@bond.senate.gov
natasha_hickman@burr.senate.gov
jenny_manley@cochran.senate.gov
patricia_knight@hatch.senate.gov
And the hypocritical Dems who are trying to have it both ways:
Boxer (CA)
Conrad (ND)
Levin (Mich.)
Ben Nelson (Nebr.)
Webb (VA)
Huh? When did this happen? As of this morning, my understanding was that Lamar Alexander was going to vote no on the bill but YES on cloture.
oops....should have said emails....
Still great job...thanks for all your work and for sharing this with us.
Plus:
Bingaman (D-NM)
Where is Brownback? He never is there to vote, it seems.
Okay. I checked Google News and read that TODAY, Alexander switched from YES to NO on cloture. And this was due to his constituents contacting him. Good work Volunteers!!!
Thanks for the update on Alexander! I also contacted Mel Martinez’ office this afternoon and informed them that I would no longer be giving any financial assistance to the RNC or volunteering any of my time for any Republicans who voted in favor of Amnesty for illegals.
Ping!
If the following just in fron NRO is true, it is very good news indeed:
>>Barrasso on Amnesty [Mark Krikorian]
Good news from a reader:
During the selection process to replace Senator Thomas, Dr. Barrasso said he takes the same position as Enzi on the immigration bill and opposes amnesty. He will likely follow Enzi’s lead on this issue.
