Bush vows permanent ban on future illegal migrants
BREITBART ^

Posted on 06/23/2007 11:15:50 AM PDT by Sub-Driver

Bush vows permanent ban on future illegal migrants Jun 23 01:49 PM US/Eastern President George W. Bush promised Saturday to permanently bar future illegal immigrants from the United States as he renewed his push for immigration reform, a centerpiece of his domestic agenda.

A revised reform package was reintroduced in the Senate this past week after its predecessor failed on June 7 to garner enough votes to cut off debate and move for final passage.

The collapse of the first proposal has prompted a personal intervention by the president, who went to Capitol Hill to plead for giving the bill a second chance.

But while he has succeeded in putting the proposal back on the Senate agenda, the legislation is facing strong opposition from both Republicans and Democrats, who argue that granting legal status to an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants will only encourage more people to sneak across the poorly guarded border.

In his weekly radio address, Bush sought to address these concerns, revealing for the first time that under the revised proposal, people crossing a US border illegally will not only be deported, but never allowed to enter the United States again.

"Under this bill, those caught crossing illegally will be permanently barred from returning to the United States on a work or tourist visa," the president stated.

He went on to assure Americans the new bill puts border enforcement first.

The measure contains 4.4 billion dollars to help the US Border Patrol hire more agents, build additional fencing, purchase infrared cameras and other technologies that help intercept illegal aliens.

"Only after these enforcement tools are in place will certain other parts of the bill go into effect," Bush said.

There will have to be a significant effort made to deport the 12 million (20 million?) illegals already here before anyone will believe in and endorse any legislation from this President and Congress. Since that will never happen and they know it, the Federal Government Party is just going to have to force the bill through with no public support and thake their chances that they have the 2008 elections rigged well enough to deliver the results they want.

That’s “permanent” or 18 months, whichever comes sooner.

Its sad but true; nobody believes President Bush anymore when he says such things. Everything about his past actions and rhetoric says that he supports pretty much open borders with Mexico. I mean, does anyone expect the guy who coined (or at least made popular) the new platitude ‘family values don’t stop at the Rio Grande’ to follow through on such a promise?

After 7 years, its just too late. All of his credibility on the issue vanished a long time ago.

When Bush says he is going to bar “illegal immigrants FROM the Unites States” I can only assume that he means that Americans will not be permitted to escape by immigrating to other countries.

So it appears that once he finishes turning the country into a third-world craphole, no one will be allowed to leave.

"Under this bill, those caught crossing illegally will be permanently barred from returning to the United States on a work or tourist visa," the president stated.

The operative phrase here is "those caught crossing illegally", which means that once they get across without getting caught, they're home free just like the 20 Million already here.

Mr. President, you're playing word games with us and you shouldn't be playing a game you're not too good at..................

All you illegals go to the front of the line, then we will call it quits.

From this point on the term "illegal" will only be referenced in respect to legal citizens.

I recall similar promises from a previous administration, they weren't kept either.

"The measure contains 4.4 billion dollars to help the US Border Patrol hire more agents, "

What good will this do if you put them in prison when they enforce the law?

I must maintain my position that the existing laws be enforced first and the fence/wall be built first, and the boarder(s) enforced first, before I am ready to agree to any discussion about guest workers, amnesty for those already here or Z-VISA's.

Also, IF a new bill is needed, divide it and separate the enforcement part from the immigration part as they conflict with each other.

WRONG. He’s lying. Plain and simple.

We are told how the low income worker of today is needed because others don’t want to do the work.

Then we are also told how these people represent the future of America and will work their way up in society.

Well which is it? A permanant under class of cheap labor? If it isn’t then we will need to “import” more cheap workers in the future?

And we expect that they will all be legal immigrants, that those paying thousands to coyo-teees will stop? That those walking through the desert will stop? That the Mexican Government will stop providing them maps and training on how to cross the border?

Right. Repeal the minimum wage law. It requires that cheap labor work in this country illegally.

Mexicans can go to any municipal Vital Statistics office, and come up with a tale that they have NEVER been registered, get 2 people to sign as witness, and go register as Paris Hilton, turn around in 24 hours and apply for a Mexican passport with a legitimate birth certificate. Got to get some DNA and put muscle to anything you do these days, finger prints, and lie detector tests, and people who fail need to be set in a row boat off shore of the border of Mexico and Belize. Word will get out, and they will stop coming.

We need a Constitutional Amendment FIRST to end the policy of “anchor babies”.

Second we need to resolve the “safety net” for immigrants. They do not pay into the system. They did not fall on hard times, they CAME into “hard times”. Additionally, wire transfers are the second largest source of $$$ in the Mexican economy. Plenty of “poor” workers are sending their paychecks home to extended families. Why should they sponge off of federal, state, and local taxes when they are sending PERFECTLY GOOD MONEY back home? They are “poor” by choice and we subsidize it. The $$$ they send back home benefit the Mexican economy, not the US economy.

Trickle down doesn’t work when those at the bottom aren’t putting the money back into circulation.
