How about how badly the press has dealt with his Grandfather for his involvement with that German bank in the 1930s ~ and right up to WWII?

Does "W" imagine that somehow the proposed Commission (in the bill) that's going to study whether or not we should pay reparations to Nazis we inconvenienced in WWII might exonerate his grandfather?

All of a sudden the New York Times finds things to admire in Mr. Bush. What a screaming reverse of everything else they have written about him over the past 10 years or so.

As a matter of fact, when Bush was a kid and a young man in Midland, the vast majority of Hispanics there were American citizens with several generations of American citizen ancestors, the greatest number of which entered the U.S. during the Mexican Revolution from the years 1913 through the late 1920s. They were not border crawlers, and had as much right to be there as he did. They are getting screwed by the illegal immigration situation as badly as anyone.

I’m a 5th generation Californian. I am related by marriage to the last Spanish Governor of Calif. I have seen what unfettered immigration has done. I have no qualms with legal immigration from Mexico or anywhere else. I do have a problem with Illegal immigration, allowing illegal alien criminals to remain free, cities thinking they don't have to follow the law, a disregard for the American culture, language and border. I have seen the destruction of what at one time was considered the best public school system for higher education. I have seen the destruction of communties because of foreign gangs. To this, G. Bush, wishes to add more foreign illegals! I say Never!

If I were king I would bar all Mexican immigration due to their huge numbers of illegals. Dittos for every Central American nation. I would give people from elsewhere a chance to immigrate

What America needs is educated English speakers. We should pick and choose. Instead the immigrants legal and illegal are doing the choosing

Not dumb at all. The Russian and Chinese immigrants do it all the time. They legally bring their elderly parents over here who apply and get Social Security Disability. When you are elderly you will always have some valid reason for getting on SS disability. Plus subsidized housing and free medical. They draw a lot from a nation they never contributed to in taxes and SS taxes
