He's lost the support of the army. Let's hope they get him before he flees the country.

Any tall buildings in Harare?
Defenestration was always a good Marxist tradition to follow.

Why has it taken so long?

He will probably flee. When you lose support of the troops, a dictator's fate is sealed. And he can't pay them well enough to retain their loyalty. Not with the kind of inflation Zimbabwe is looking at these days.

Defenestration

Ah, one of my favorite words which is so seldom used.

As a means of changing government, defenestration is an old Czech tradition that predates communism. Its one of those rare old world traditions that communists actually liked and held onto.

This has a certain ring of the last days of the Emperor Nero. When the people, Senate, and Army got fed up with him, he went into hiding, and then killed himself as the Praetorian Guard closed in. If Mugabe can't get to the airport the same thing may happen to him.

The problem in the first century AD was that the Empire fell into anarchy, resulting in 4 new Emperors in the next year. This may happen in Zimbabwe.

I heard it used in a story last month.

The radio host that read it, columinist Howie Carr, said it was an underused word too.

Of course, if you're the one flying out the window, literally, ...

Or someone that happens to be walking below, it's probably better off under-used.

Interestingly enough, Carter is still around. It will prove entertaining to hear him stumble around the usual commie excuses, we did not provide enough support, we did not prase the course of action enough, we undermined the government of moo-gumby, we, we, we... it will all be the fault of the evil US and he will be the noble and far-thinking guide that should have been listened to, blah, blah, blah...

Yes! Soon he will have to live in exile somewhere in Venezuela or California.

I’m sure Jimbo the Peanut Brain will take to the airwaves defending Mugabe. Perhaps as soon as this evening.

Mugabe's spokesman, George Charamba dismissed the letter and these reports as rubbish.

Perhaps they will beg to be forgiven and offer a gift to Moo-gumby to be back in his good graces.

Somthing in a necklace?

"Defenestration"

Saving for later.

Hoping that his reign of terror is at an end, finally.

I agree. Just because Mugabe dies or departs does not mean Zimbabwe will be in any better shape. There are many Mugabe wanna be's itching to take his place. They'll have many coups in the future...and, lots more suffering.
