Iranian forces crossed Iraqi border: report
AFP ^ | 06/25/07

Posted on 06/25/2007 4:59:23 PM PDT by Rutles4Ever

Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces have been spotted by British troops crossing the border into southern Iraq, The Sun tabloid reported on Tuesday.

Britain's defence ministry would not confirm or deny the report, with a spokesman declining to comment on "intelligence matters".

An unidentified intelligence source told the tabloid: "It is an extremely alarming development and raises the stakes considerably. In effect, it means we are in a full on war with Iran -- but nobody has officially declared it."

"We have hard proof that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps have crossed the border to attack us. It is very hard for us to strike back. All we can do is try to defend ourselves. We are badly on the back foot."

The Sun said that radar sightings of Iranian helicopters crossing into the Iraqi desert were confirmed to it by very senior military sources.

In response to the report, a British defence ministry spokesman said: "There is evidence that explosive devices used against our troops in southern Iraq originated in Iran."

"Any Iranian link to armed militias in Iraq either through weapons supply, training or funding are unacceptable."

Britain has about 7,100 soldiers in Iraq, most of whom are based in the southern city of Basra and surrounding areas, though the government has pledged to reduce that to between 5,000 and 5,500 this year.

"Lighten up Francis." It's just a bit of dark humor.

Iran’s leadership has to go. As for Syria, it would make a nice adjacent lot for Jordan to administer.

Carter was such a soothsayer... the guy is responsible for the whole of the Islamic global jihad, and each time YOU go through a checkpoint at the airport folks, just remember that Jimma the peanut brain is responsible for bringing them to your nation.

If today’s obviously threats from Russian armed Iran & Syria had been during WWII, both terrorist exporting rouge states would have already been attacked.

Thanks. Someone who thinks he’ll make paradise by killing the infidel is untroubled by the deaths of those he sends to die.

I am sure, if ANYTHING could cause you to miss something, it’d be that, for sure. We’ve had a ‘little’ prior experience with ‘kitchen remodels’... LOL.

It's a puzzle why we, the USA, haven't destroyed Irans' Nuclear and Conventional Weapons by massive bombardment yet. We've known their intentions for over a year, watched them continue their march towards their stated goals, and haven't acted.

In the meantime, Iran has grown stronger militarily, and the 'fifth-column' of muzzies inside the USA has grown stronger. We've even got muzzies in congress!

It is as if our so-called leadership is waiting for another 9/11-type attack before we act, so-as to be sure 'world-opinion' will be on our side.

'World-Opinion' will never be on our side until the UN is destroyed. I'm beginning to think Bush is owned by the Saudis ................... FRegards

Also an attack on Iraq would be a useful Iranian distraction to divert the West in the event Iran and Syria plan to sponsor another war against Israel

Good thinking. If Syria and Iran can tie up the US enough in Iraq and Afghanistan, The Arab League will feel free to move on Israel. As we have shrunk the already tiny Israel even smaller, they cannot take a first strike and survive. So the only option if the Arabs begin to move is for Israel to pull "The Samson Option" a nuclear first strike against the Arab League capitols.

One day soon Israel will have to decide if having six million Jews in the world is more important than having a few hundred million terrorists. May they have to courage to push that button for all our sakes, we don't...

“Whatever happened to the Bush Doctrine???

It’s predicated on absolutely acting when we are acted upon. Once it was clear that we weren’t going to RESPOND TO THE AMERICAN LEFT, it was only a matter of time until the other chips began to fall.
