Only the US would give groups hostile to the national government access to its military sites. Germans are not so suicidal.

Well, my beef isn't with the fact that the Germans denied access to the bases, but the stated reason as to why. As far as simply denying access to military bases, I would think that would simple be wise standard procedure, irregardless of who was asking to film.

Who is the Cult to believe that they may GET ACCESS TO GERMAN GOVERNMENT PROPERTY?? They have no right to enter military facilities.

LOL, your ignorance is showing. Did you bother to read the story? Am I entitled to use US Army facilities for making a movie? I don´t think so. I may ask for it, but if the US government declines, I gotta live with it. Same for Mr. Cruise.

The Cult is not a religious organization from the viewpoint of the German government, but a profit-seeking organization. As such, the government considers the methods used by SC to be evil and aimed to set elemental parts of the German constitution out of power. It´s understandable that they don´t want to support the SC, directly or indirectly.

Moreover, my recollection is that Germany's current position on the cult is that a number of rather high-ranking Scientologists were involved in some sort of real-estate scam in the 1990s. I forget the details, however.

I agree with you, Michael. I watched a debate in the 1990’s on German TV involving 2 persons supporting Scientology and 2 persons opposing it. The only argument the supporters had was it’s great because Cruise, Travolta, Presley, et al, were members. The opposers, especially this one woman, tore them apart. IMO, the Scientologists are just what the German Government says they are, a bunch of rip off artists.
