I like them both. A lot. I hope we can settle on one or the other so we can unite to knock out Rudy AND Hillary!!

It is getting pretty ridiculous and thought this would be a great way to discuss this.

Gee, I wonder why. As someone who routinely comes on to Fred threads and lays a turd on them and then you wonder why you gets attack.

Duncan is my first choice. Realistically though Fred stands a far better chance of getting elected so ... read my tag line

The only thing I know is that Fred is probably 5 times more electable than Duncan Hunter. But, Hunter is a very, very, fine man and we would be served well with him being in the White House.

I’d prefer Duncan, but think Fred is more plausible.

"Do not run down our conservative candidates."

Does that include posting voting record facts about a candidate? Or are those not allowed to be seen here?

I've been flamed quite a few times for posting the facts.

Thank you. I must admit that perhaps I need to take your words to heart. I probably am guilty of doing that a bit.
Thanks again!

I like Hunter’s position on China and illegal immigration way more than Thompson’s. Hunter also seems to be a tad more tough on Defense than Thompson.

But Thompson is perfectly good on all issues and totally qualifies for me.

Thompson however is more presidential than Hunter. Thompson is media savvy, charming, an excellent speaker and has the stuff to be a winner in the general election. Thompson also mangages to rally Republicans.

In the primaries my vote will likely go to Hunter, just to prep him up. I expect Thompson to win the primaries, but I hope that Hunter get a cabinet post (SecDef) or runs as VP with Thompson.

The recent fights on FR between Duncanistas and Fredheads were nasty and often on gutter level. It’s a shame to see the supporters of two good candidates getting at each other.

I hope we could get the two best candidates somehow on a ticket.

I am supporting Duncan, because I agree with him on abotu 90%+ of his record and stances, Fred I give andbout 75% to 80%. I could vote for him, but why with Duncan in the race.

I guess when (if?) he formally declares I’ll look into his record more...but he does have the name recognition and that goes a long way.

The key word is unite. There’s no need for Thompson or Hunter supporters to be firing at each other. That makes no sense.

We should fire away at RINO’s and Dems, but please, we don’t need anymore friendly fire!

Well, it’s hard to support Fred Thompson at this juncture, since nobody knows what his positions will be. He is popular because he is the repository of the hopes of disaffected Republicans who are currently less than enamored of the declared contenders. Hunter would probably make an excellent president, but unfortunately he hasn't any money...and we all know it comes down to money.

I like them both.I know more about Duncan Hunter than FDT.When FDT announces we will see what happens. The media complex does not want people to get to know Duncan Hunter because if that happened Hunter would be alot higher in the polls. The two candidates would make a hell of a team would they not?

I admit to having no knowledge of Duncan Hunter prior to this spring - there is still plenty of time for him to gain recognition. I think he and Thompson would be an amazing ticket.
